Hi all,

Just bought a house that has a smart meter. If I called an energy company to begin a contract with them, is it possible for them to get rid of it and go back to a standard meter?

Just get them to install a pay as you go meter. say you cant afford to pay,job done.

I had this argument with EDF when they asked me to have a smart meter, I said 'NO' They said 'but everyone's having them now, it's for you and your family's benefit really' I said 'Not everyone is having them, because I for one won't be having one, and I suspect you're getting more people saying NO than you're getting people saying YES'! The lady was quite shocked when I said 'I might be a pensioner, but I haven't got a zip up the back of my head and my brain isn't wrapped in cotton wool either, Smart Meters are for Dumb people'! 'As for being installed for my benefit, that's rubbish, it's never for the consumers benefit, it's always for the supplier's benefit and the government's benefit, we consumers don't even come into the equation love'! 🤔 She rang off just a few seconds later, that was two years ago, and I've still got my old meter installed!👍

Smart meters collate their information and send it all to a local hub for broadcast to the nearest death tower. Unfortunately this local ‘hub’ is actually someone else’s smart meter in your community whose smart meter has the most efficient broadcast to the tower. These hubs give off much more radiation than everyone else’s because of the multiple signals being sent from every smart meter in the vicinity. Pray yours is not a hub. 🙏🤮

A spokesperson at Smart Energy GB, said: 'There's no reason why anyone should want to take the backward step of replacing a smart meter with an old analogue meter.

🤣

When you realise you are walking towards a cliff edge,it is usually wise to take a"backward step".Just as when you realise you are in a hole it is best to stop digging.

I had this issue, although the smart meters I have are in 'dumb' mode meaning their smart functionality is turned off. This is because they are early models. I will never agree to have them updated.

Rather than go through changing providers just buy some high quality faraday cages instead, like I did. I have one for the smart meter inside my flat and don't need one for the one outside my flat because I am up three flights of stairs. Faraday cages, orgonite crystals, there are multiple ways of addressing this issue.

People are going to have to get creative and start using the placebo effect to their advantage because we are not going to be able to avoid this. Everywhere we go now we are coming into contact with wifi and various other forms of radiation. Pick a way of dealing with this, like an orgonite crystal around your neck like I do, and then believe it is helping you. Believe also that your body has the power to overcome anything. Foster that belief. Then put the issue to the back of your mind.

Yep that’ll work for your meter, although if it’s a hub you’ll have radiation beams coming through your walls from all directions, full faraday cage will be the only option but bloody expensive. Fine copper or steel mesh plus anti radiation paint you can get from specialist suppliers, and ground yourself if your sitting down for long periods of time. Just tie an old copper speaker cable to a radiator pipe then the other exposed end to your wrist or arm or foot. Jobs a good un!😃.                                                     Also if you’re using wireless tech for long periods, afterwards take your shoes and socks off and sit in your garden or outside making sure your feet are flat in full contact with the soil or grass. 15 mins usually does it. Works wonders. Obviously not right now it’s brass monkeys out there🥶

Okay so quick update...

I signed up with OVO after seeing there was barely any difference between them all.

At first they said they couldn't take out the meter and replace it with a standard one, but could switch it off.

Then they said they could take it out but couldn't work out how much it would cost. Then they said they could switch it off but asked how I would work out my readings? Would I be left with just their estimates?

Where do I stand in all of this? Do those EMF boxes block out the radiation that they give off? If they do, I might opt for that.

Any advice is appreciated guys.

I’ve still got my old gas and electric meters … the number of people who have rang to harass me emails text messages etc to get a smart meter. It will never happen. Apart from the radiation the smart meters charge twice the amount of the old meters. I have a lump of crystal on both meters which slows down the mechanism
