Because from memory he was the chancellor that created all these financial distortions we see today. Weird how folks will have to pay more in taxes, see less public services, yet we still have plenty to send to the conflict in Ukraine. Hopefully folks will snag soon and protest about it like in czech and France...
Youknownothingbutyou
I feel the logical step for anyone in here is to remove himself from the monatary system. if you live in the West, work 20h per week and you pay 0$ tax . then work some jobs under the table and laugh at the fools who pays for it all? if you own a house, you are already getting screwed by housing taxes. sell your house, and rent. Gaol or a lien on your property will result. They get their taxes and you will pay the fine. Indeed. Protestors may have right and common law on their side, but without action en masse - a complete boycott of this tax - fines and/or jail will be the result for individuals brave (or foolish) enough to oppose the system. In the meantime, the Council Krays keep on getting the dosh while the tax paying public receives the square root of sod all in exchange.. bins emptied every two or three weeks or so if you're lucky. Demanding money with menaces is supposed to be illegal, but not in this particular case.

JasonCurties
The local council has the power to set its own taxes. But the tax rate should be optimal, because if the tax is too high, people will look for ways to circumvent the tax. Also, when new taxes are introduced, the rating among local residents drops. The council of our city is always interested in the opinions of local residents on various projects and plans of the council. We use https://www.councilratings.co.uk to leave a comment. The council tries to do its best to satisfy the residents. Edited January 12 by JasonCurties
