Mat
Hello, I was thinking about some things in relation to Sacrifices to “baal”. Has anyone related these sacrifices to people being cremated ?

Has anyone related these sacrifices to people being cremated ? with the cremation angle i would be thinking more about the ability to destroy evidence for example with people dying of the covid jabs who should be given an autopsy so that the true cause of death is determined. If however they are cremated then the evidence goes up in smoke so to speak
Campion
I can't decide whether to get cremated or buried when I die, being a traditionalist I prefer the idea of burial which preserves any evidence as Mac says, though it's more expensive. Reading up about Baal I've learned that the word is more of a title than a name of a particular god, and I've found this sacrifice reference in wiki to Ba'al Hammon: "Rather than the bull, Baʿal Hammon was associated with the ram and depicted with his horns. The archaeological record seems to bear out accusations in Roman sources that the Carthaginians burned their children as human sacrifices to him." Ba'al Hammon was possibly known as the Lord of the Brazier which is another fire connection, and also identified with Saturn. I don't know of a connection with modern cremation but I suppose our recent acceptance of it has occurred alongside the decline in Christianity which mostly opposed it. I was wondering if anyone else came to the same assumption that modern cremation was sacrificing yourself to this god without you knowing. Similar to religions tricking people to unknowingly worship pagan gods.
