Childhood's End

Today I had my first tutorial for uni.

The tutor put up a picture for a book called  "Childhood's End"

The symbolism was insane. I also found other covers for this book..all full of the weird symbolism we know too well.

Has anyone read this book?? Quite sinister looking. So many different variations of the cover.

Arthur C Clarke. Nice choice of Uni topic considering he was a raging known paedo. Regardless of that I hope uni is all you hope it will be

I imagine it does feel strange! Pursuing something that helps children, especially when you are so aware, is a noble cause.

Read the book! Any TV series based on a book leaves a lot out and creates distortions of what was originally written.

While Arthur C Clarke had a liking for young men, I'm not sure he was a paedophile.

Apparently, the Sri Lankan courts found there was no case against him. There were, and still are, a lot of people in Sri Lanka arguing a different side.

What I remember personally is going back probably 20+ years.

:) Awh, I hope to make a difference for someone who needs the help.

It's becoming harder and harder to get the help they need.

The course overall will take me 10 years as my first three years are part time (I could only get a part time grant for funding as I'm too skint to pay it myself 😆) a long way to go :)

Interesting, I shall read it :)

The weird thing is, I had never heard of Arthur C Clarke before and yesterday, my mum mentioned him to me. Freakishly synchronised!!

Woah! The very slogan (well one of them, anyway) used at the start of the Covid sham, there in all its glory with a red bewinged demon!!! Fascinating.

I've never heard of the book or the series, but will have a watch probably tonight.

I remember this too. The only reason the old sleaze moved there was purely so that he could have his way with little boys with no repercussions.

You're a saint!

Be aware though - and I'm not trying to deter you - I've known of people who've gone into this field and left, traumatised on seeing how much help is needed and how little is truely given, while their roles have proved to be an exercise in pointless beauracracy.

I'm glad that you're not going into it with rose tinted specacles borne of ignorance. You have an advantage over them, because your enquiring mind has led you away from acceptance of all the illusions spun around us, and you'll have come across some shocking truths.

I wish you all the very best, and admire your choice of career.

Awh shucks!😶 You're too kind ❤️

Aah, I can completely believe this. It's not for the faint hearted..I hope I'll be strong enough to stay in this career. I found working as a care assistant very depressing and had to leave as a result.

I'm hoping I'll learn techniques to help myself should this ever occur again.

Seeing the way the world is going and having a bit of an idea where it is heading..I hope I can help someone..somehow.

The psychologist who helped me also inspired me to go down this route. She was so kind and understanding. Got me through some really dark times.

This is very true! I'm grateful to have learned what I have through the years, especially on this forum.

Not many psychologists would go down the "conspiracy theory" route due to fear of being stigmatised or told they have paranoia. But I'm more than happy to hear what clients have to say and not put them down because it seems far out there..heck, I'll join in those conversations 😁

Thank you again for your kind words, really touched me x

Eek! Good observation!

I'll take it as some form of predictive planning as to what we may see. But that slogan..really gives me chills in that context.

I read the novel years ago and his other stories too and was convinced that Clarke was an insider who knew what the Ruling Elite's plans are. Without giving away too much, in the novel, children and the UN are key to the alien overlords plans for the human race.

Clarke belonged to the Club of Budapest, a 'New Age' counterpart to the Club of Rome.
