Alcohol is a poison. There is far to much proof to say otherwise. In the past children drank a very low % beer as it was safer than the water in medi evil times.

Bullshit imho designed to make us think the past was a dangerous place. Local people would have access to wells and fresh water. The water companies and local authorities have made a concerted effort to block wells over the last 200 years etc

In the countryside and small villages perhaps there was reliable access to clean water, but it was different in cities. There have been many cholera outbreaks made worse by poor drinking water and sanitation, eg in the 1830s in Europe.

That maybe true about the wells. But its well 'excuse the pun' documented that water wasn't safe in the past, and children drank low % beer.

Yes it was called Smallbeer and I think it happened a lot but I don’t think it was the only thing children drank but then I can’t be certain but it seems a preposterous state of affairs the scale of the brewing would have to be massive to feed a large agrarian and later urban population .. like a myth the Masonic beer brewers created
