Strange Future - Anybody Watched ALTERED CARBON On NETFLIX?

Wondering if anybody else has watched Altered Carbon (series) on Netflix?

 

Its pretty well done and shows a VERY advanced future similar to what David warns against.

Yeah I've seen both series. It's a pretty cool concept with immortality at its base. It's worth a watch.

Altered Carbon is one of the best sci-fi books I've ever read. I thought the tv series was good too, but it didn't impact me to the same extent that the book did.

Yes, really liked the first series,  had some bollocks on it, thought it very interesting particularly that fact that we are all just minds downloaded onto a small hardrive inserted into the back of the neck.  And that when we die, that hard drive can be put in a different body - a better type of body if you have the money!
Is this what the cabal want to happen?
Liked that main actor in this one too - I kind of thought he fits the part well - cold and mean.
Yeah very good - lots of quality ladies in their birthday suits too, yummy.
The 2nd series I didn't rate as high, I never really like that twat who played hawkwing out of the avengers, very one dimensional, the fight scenes were alot more basic, the general direction was poorly thought out and executed,  and I think it dragged on a bit too much, too sentimental in places.
1st series - really really bloody good - well worth a watch.  2nd series - just about okay - tarnished the 1st series.
Love the girls in it - in particular that one who was supposed to be his sister....  in that cloned scene where theres 20 of them all in the nudey.

It's interesting as predictive programming.

I remember was similar idea with an overlord character played by Mick Jagger years ago , similar dystopian dark future run as corporation,yuck

Also funny how assume can download a person via back of neck(reptilian part of brain)

I think we are more than digital information

AC shows the future elite as being arrogant, lusty, aloof and degenerate as hell. They even make lovers fight each other to the death in an arena, promising them new upgraded bodies if the bloodletting is good.

 

It shows the world as having become one great cesspit of exploitation, lawlessness and despair.

 

It also shows how the concept of being able to change bodies - simply downloading yourself into another body - really fucks up the future.

 

Its pretty well done and violent as hell. I can RECOMMEND Season 1. Haven't seen 2 yet.

 

I wasn't expecting much when I started watching, but found it to be pretty compelling.
