They seem to be sudenly interested in space exploration again after a 50 years lay off. I'd be more worried what they know that we don't that suddenly makes it worth spending billions on That's what I'm getting at...*they* can do it, and are funding a getaway of some sort, but the public failures to launch are staged to fool the public into thinking it ain't possible. "Look, even NASA can't get it up there anymore with a hassle".

Depends what your talking about really the self landing rockets are very new technology The NASA rocket is incredibly exspensive I'd take care as well. I think k from memory there were several delayed launches in the 60s and 70s as well. It clearly is possible they will get to where they want. But it seems a bit unlikely Maybe, but let's assume the following: The Black Knight satellite was placed in Earth orbit by an alien species over 2000 years ago. Said alien species has been monitoring a collecting data on our species since then. Said alien species will have witnessed the steady growth of military power and weaponry. Humans are deemed to be a hostile and warlike lot which, if they had the technology, could exterminate other civilizations and conquer their worlds. If I'm an alien in possession of that data, I'm going to be thinking of ways to confine humankind to its own planet.

We might use Space like a toilet.
