I tend to agree, though I'd also imagine the estrogen in the drinking water and secreted on the inside of tinned goods hasn't exactly helped the issue.

That brings back a nearby bakery that had a picture of Desperate Dan on their sign, & when my lad was a toddler he couldn't seem to remember that name so he used to ask me to get a sausage roll from Dirty Dick's for him. 

 

Back on topic, although there probably is a dramatic increase in this I just don't believe any statistics that they pull from their orifices.
