I recall, as a young kitten, watching The Wonderful World of Disney, on the television set, every Sunday evening. Sometimes you'd get a cartoon or a nature show, like Charlie the Lonesome Cougar. Sometimes they's have American history, like the Swamp Fox. Going to Disneyland, as a kid, was like Mecca. You would spend most of the time being amazed that you were in Disneyland. It was incredibly clean and well maintained. All the park guest showed respect to the park. The food, the toys, even the balloons were better than any other places. Thank God for the memories. That's all we have, now.

Yes my happiest times were when I had no understanding of political labels, but knew good manners, a loving family and what it is to be human. Oh and to be left alone in your own family and friends circle without being dragged into opinions, wars and politics. These bastards. The more we fight them the more they win. They're just trouble makers.

It's easy to see the appeal of being a sheep. If there's nothing we can do about what's happening, the awake just get to puzzle and worry and fume over it  while the rest can be blissfully ignorant and focus on their trivial pursuits. I'm just waiting to recognise a clue as to something we genuinely can do.

I read a book called 'Babes in Tomorrowland' by Nicholas Sammond. It's a real eye-opener on how Disney got into the child-rearing business. How they hooked Margaret Mead, the preeminent American anthropologist of her day and an acolyte of Boas, into the Mickey Mouse Club to help shape opinions. And how easy it was for them. Here's a link to the blurb for the book. Of course, the way things are going, it might end up on a banned list one day.
