Are we about to have one of the harshest (manipulated) winters ever?

Its turned out to be a pretty rubbish winter despite some hype..

Yes we had a promising cold start...little or no snow though..

Wheres the snow,we hardly get any these winters, reality check..

While Turkey gets blanketed with snow something they certainly don t want after the biggest natural disaster since 2011 fukashima..

quite mild now.

anyone had power outages yet?

nothing here

I was outside in my garden here in south Birmingham yesterday in just a t-shirt, very pleasant 16C in the sunshine.

Apart from a bit of light drizzle overnight, not really had much in the way of rain for about three weeks now, been a pretty dry February so far.

This is of course despite the local media telling us that we should have been blanketed in snow by now, according to the 'predictions' made by dubious weather agencies.

There's some bullshit about another "beast from the east", but from observations the clouds are moving from the west.

Manifestation. 😂

According to 'Sussex Live' Brighton, Lancing Worthing and Chichester are going to be hit by sleet AND snow next week, as temperatures drop! I've emailed the Bishop of Chichester to remember us  all in his prayers next time he's talking to Head Office!🤭 I've fed the Huskies and greased the runners on our sled, AND applied to Deliveroo for an emergency delivery position during the horrific weather that's approaching, you can't leave people who are too idle to shit, let alone cook their own meals, dying of hypothermia and hunger, can you?🤔🤭

Yes, I've read today's Daily Express that a spell of cold weather is incoming....

The coldest I've ever been was when I did a short stint in Iceland in the nineteen seventies, the manager sacked me on the third day for trying to light a fire in the big freezers at the back of the store!🤭

Hah. I use3d to work with a guy who said he'd come to that job from Iceland. I asked him which branch - but he meant the country!

As I mentioned in an earlier reply, our local Reach news rag has been running practically the same story for the last few weeks, about we're all going to be blanketed in snow in the next week or so, based on some 'forecasting' by some organisation called WXcharts.

As for the Daily Express, I'm still waiting for the "100 days of snow" that they warned us about several years ago now. 🤪

Looking at the 10-day forecast for Birmingham from The Weather Channel (usually pretty reliable), it looks like we might have a bit of snow next week, but I doubt it will cause much in the way of disruption.

Personally I think once this bit of weather is out of the way - last vestiges of winter and all that - then we can start looking forward to the spring and the warmer weather, as well as all the histrionics about 'how hot it is'.

Snow and cold weather in February/March...

Its Not Unusual Tom Jones GIF - ItsNotUnusual TomJones ...

Quite. In 1980 or 81 (I forget) I was shovelling snow on my birthday, which is in early May. In 1975 I was walking  a horse home in a snow shower on Easter Sunday (end of March)

That was a frigging long, hard, slow and cold winter

My energy bills went up 150%, I couldn't absorb that. I had to accrue debt, or damn near freeze to death.

Will the people tolerate another winter like that? We've got one summer to get something done about it.

Good luck, freedom loving comrades!

Yeah, it hit me in the wallet hard too. Hang in there though, at least us Europeans didn't freeze like the Eurasianist wind up merchants claimed would happen.

Yes bills went up but I actually used less than last year, so I can only assume it was warmer (as I haven't changed any settings) and the heating didn't come on as often. And, of course, the bills are going up again.
