Cool.
What about a swab ?
Nothing stuck up your nose ?

Nobody is sticking one of those hideous swabs up my nose! I don't go to bars and only going food shopping right now. I don't go anywhere where they need to take my address and even if they did and contacted me I'd just tell them I've had the virus already, or cough and say I'm self isolating. I live by myself so nobody would know where I'd been or not. I hardly see the neighbours.

My dad went in for an operation last week which he's been waiting for, but because of convid was delayed. He's 76, hes quite like DI in his thinking knows all about the agenda who's behind it etc, he's always been a free thinker and has researched for years, so he's in the know so to speak. He went in for his op, and was told he had to wear a mask at all times whilst in the hospital, he explained all about the harm they do and how they do not stop viruses, and he could not wear one. The doctor came out to speak to him and he said he must wear one if  he wanted the op and that was the end of the discussion they had to abide by the government rules, he also went on to explain that if there were complications he may have to be put on a ventilator,  cant believe they said that. But that was it for him he got his stuff and left.  He said to me hospitals are now death camps, they want us dead.  So he has to live with his condition now at 76.

I feel for you mate. I popped into Tescos earlier this evening. Some customers had masks on, some not, same with the staff in there. I put the shitty mask on but pulled it off after 5 mins cos I couldn't breathe properly and it was steaming up my glasses so much I couldn't see properly. I hate the freaking things.

I'll get one of those face shields  instead.

I imagine that the same exemptions apply to workplaces as to general practice.

I'm exempt in public then I am forced at work ?

I have yet to see or find clarification.

That's a disgrace. Some "doctors and specialists" think they are gods. I know cause I've dealt with some right twats.

Could your dad not have told them he had a reasonable excuse? I'm sure that applies where you are too (or similar) because all these "rules" ultimately come from the same source irrespective of where you live (unless it's Australia where they seem to have moved it up a notch)

It is a disgrace, and he's aware of the exemptions I don't know if he used the reasonable excuse, he told me he said he couldnt wear one but hes really strong willed. He's just going to take his chances now, he doesn't trust the hospitals anymore and if he goes in he's doubting whether he will come back out. The operation isn't a major one, but hes made his mind up now.

This is also what I would like clarification on too. Surely is discriminatory towards people with exemptions forcing them to wear them at work?

I've done some hunting around.. so far this,  but its nowhere near a straight yes/no

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/shops-and-branches#shops-3-3

Steps that will usually be needed:

Understanding and taking into account the particular circumstances of those with protected characteristics.

Making reasonable adjustments to avoid disabled workers being put at a disadvantage.

Providing support for workers around mental health and wellbeing. This could include advice or telephone support.

It is breaking the law to discriminate, directly or indirectly, against anyone because of a protected characteristic such as age, sex or disability, race or ethnicity.

Employers also have particular responsibilities towards disabled workers and those who are new or expectant mothers.

Making reasonable adjustments to avoid disabled workers being put at a disadvantage,

Problem the owner says is there are far too many busy body snitches about. One of the girls I employs husband is s Sargent in the police force. He says they have had to get someone to man the phone for covid snitches ringing in. What is the world coming to ffs

This is the reason the Stasi were so effective. Willing pawns willing to do anything for a pat on the head.

Supermarket Asda is set to enforce rules on face coverings more strictly across its shops amid the pandemic.

Customers who do not have a covering when they enter a store will be offered a pack of disposable masks that they can pay for at the end of their trip.

"We know that safety remains a key priority for our customers," said.Anthony Hemmerdinger, chief operating officer at Asda.

Asda announced on Wednesday that it will create 1,000 new "safety marshal" roles across its 639 UK stores.

Dedicated staff will remind shoppers to wear face coverings in-store and provide customers with sanitised shopping baskets on arrival.

Can't  give the staff a pay rise but can take on  hi-vizzed 'marshalls'.

My town had two marshalls today, they were standing  in the pouring rain with two cones with yellow tape joining them,to show the public what 6 foot distance  looks like..

Jesus, I want to buy a tent and live in the woods.

I've already bought my tent.

Covid Marshall must be world's worst job.

I'd rather live in the woods.

As far as I  could see they were being ignored by most people.

We have wide pavements  here which is a great thing for  avoiding  chuggers and now these dicks.

@Jaquiby a shame that your dad is missing out on an op and feels the way he does about hospitals.  It is hard to argue with that but would he be willing to compromise a little just until the op was done?  Really, it's not as if hospital staff would be able to check on patients every 5 minutes so he'd just need to play the game with a muzzle half on, half off when they're around.  Must be a worry for you too.

Aah thanks for that, but he knows what the masks symbolise, and at 76 hes set in his ways. I think once they mentioned a ventilator he was off like a shot anyway. It's not life threatening but more pain and discomfort he said he'd live with it, he doesn't trust them now after what research he's done and spoken to different people about what they've seen going on. But never know what might happen he might get it done, all I know is theyve been back in touch with him but not sure what's happening.

Thanks for that, it makes sense now. I've been going into my local asda every week and not been questioned. I was in this morning and was stopped at the door by a Marshall or whatever the hell  they call themselves. He said where is your mask. I told him im exempt then he said i need to see your card. I said I don't have to show you anything and walked past him. Luckily enough he didn't come after me.

So now we are going to be harrassed in the supermarkets.

It surprises me  how few customers actually know about exemption  cards.

It doesn't  seem to be common  knowledge
