It's a local area Facebook group, I've lived here long enough now to realise that there probably are just lots of brainwashed folk round here, who will not only believe all the crap coming out of the BBC or Birmingham Mail, but also some of the more ridiculous stuff that gets shared on social media.

Though I wouldn't rule out the possibility of one or two being 77th Brigaders, especially as one or two members don't even live in Birmingham, let alone this particular part.

You know best. Be safe because they will try to waste your time n energy. lol

I wear my mask all the time even at home.  I've found I can drink my cans of beer through my mask without having to take it off.  It gets soaked but dries out after a few hours.

joke btw.

You had me worried for a moment, thought I was on the wrong forum! 😜

Well I hadn't been shopping since the day before the MuzzleDay, and on that day I'd say between 10-20% were masked up. Since then I've refused to go staging my own one man sulk in mini protest (I don't think anybody noticed, lol). Wifey went on last Saturday (MuzzleDay+1) and said all of the shoppers wore a mask, which kinda demonstrates that the people were more scared of the rules than they were of "the virus".

Today, we needed a few "essentials" because we'd run out and I didn't want to go, but went with wifey anyway, planning to sit it out in the car listening to music while she did the shopping and adamant that I was definitely NOT going to wear a mask. Wifey dons her mask, picks up a pound for the shopping trolley and wanders off to the entrance. I sat there initially but then decided to follow her and just to see what's going on at the entrance. On our previous visit to this Sainsbury's there's been a long "antisocial distancing" queue snaking through the car park, but today there was none of that. I saw a security guard standing outside the entrance wearing a mask but didn't seem that bothered about checking people. They had these signs at the entrance...

I visited Sainsbury's as face masks became mandatory and was ...

...I contemplated walking in for a while but then thought I'd check the Lidl across the road first. There were no queues outside, no guard at the door, so I just walked straight in. Nearly all the shoppers were muzzled, and about a third of the staff. Got my few bits and bobs, did a self checkout, nobody challenged or even looked. Buoyed by my drama free Lidl experience I then strolled into Sainsbury's past the security guard, who was busy on his phone and at this point wasn't wearing a mask, and went in search of Wifey who by this time was at the till. Helped her pack and had a few bants with the checkout lady, and left, very happy that I was able to shop muzzle free without any confrontations.

So, I shall continue to shop in that fashion and if asked I will just leave without shopping. I am not going to shop anywhere that forces me to wear a mask. My wife was scared initially because she didn't want to get a fine so she wore a mask. She later asked in Lidl what are the rules for wearing masks there and she was told by one of the staff that they are NOT allowed to challenge people who are not wearing masks and that only the police can issue fines.

How many people will faint from overheating today ? A very hot day coming up.

Seen a few reports  on Twitter of people  passing out while masked, don't  know if reported on MSM as I can't  bring myself to  look at  it. But I  imagine  no.

Went to the supermarket this morning. About 90% wearing masks, but was surprised to see a young female shop worker chatting away with not a mask in sight, not even around her neck? Nobody said a word to me and no dirty looks either.

The next stop was the pharmacy which I reckoned was going to be the big challenge, because even before the mandatory masks were introduced they were all about social distancing etc.

The first thing I noticed were the signs plastered everywhere saying "Don't make us ask, Wear a mask".

I waited in line until the pharmacist himself called me over....😒

He was nice as pie to me?? Chatting away about the weather etc. as if it was a bygone day in a normal world where masks were only worn on Halloween.

My final stop was another supermarket in another town. Around 60% mask wearers there, but again nobody said anything and no evil glances either.

I have all these things rattling around in my head about what to say when confronted or refused entry or meet some form of resistance but yet again nothing?

Curiouser and curiouser....

it depends on the country you live in and be sure there are some places where you're quickly picked on by the 'good citizens'...

Masks are now practically mandatory everywhere outdoor and gloves will soon come in addition… I don't believe our authorities expect for people not to comply and would just get over it : it's not a practical joke by our governments and we'll not soon be told by laughing TV news speakers that it was all fake...

All these undemocratic and unjustified decrees under even more abusive fine penalties therefore were ordered by the USA (where it all started) then enforced by the EU on the European population for real so let's face it…

Our authorities that have been accusing so many non-aligned countries of all kinds of domestic abuses for the two last decades are now being mistreating and terrorizing their own peoples : we European citizens… And there are no higher domestic authorities from which we could ask for help to put an end to these abuses, restore normality and social order in our own countries… so who could we European citizens turn to ?

Russia, China or the BRICS… we've got to that point and it will not stop, you see no reason why it would...

There are no knights in shining armour coming to rescue us.....there never was.

We are the only ones who can rescue ourselves. Throughout history that has always been the way.

People think that freedom is free but it's not, you have to earn it and fight for it and keep fighting to retain it.

There is no one coming to save you, it's up to you......and me, and anyone else who opposes this tyranny.

We fight it by not conforming, by not adhering to their "mandatory" rules, and by explaining to others the stupidity of these 'regulations'.

So forget about politicians or governments...they're all part of the problem not part of the solution.

It's down to us. It may not be easy, but it's the only way.

Until I popped my rebellious cherry yesterday, I was a bit apprehensive and nervous about what I would do if I was challenged, but after taking a deep breath and walking in anyway as bold as brass, I suddenly felt empowered. I will probably not be visiting the shops as much as before MuzzleDay, however when I do go I will definitely not be wearing a mask, and if asked to do so will just leave without causing a fuss.

I have one mask wearing exception. If I am visiting older relatives who have already be scared shitless by the lamestream media, and I feel that they will be overly stressed and uncomfortable if I don't wear one on their presence then I will do so. I have a dear elderly family friend who is 93 years old and currently lives in a managed retirement apartment complex. We usually try to visit her every time I'm in London but haven't since lockdown. I would wear a mask to go and see her if I knew it would upset her if I didn't.

I posed it as a hypothesis just to emphasize on what we've been got at, yet I don't know at yours but in most the countries where it's made mandatory it's more than 90% who not only comply but collaborate in enforcing the 'rule' on their own fellow citizens, and you must get over that mess not to become like them and just bow without thinking or protesting... that's the true 'pandemic' of which we now can check the result and sequels...

That certainly sounds like a plea for help to me?

As I said in my initial post, the first supermarket I entered had around a 90% compliance rate. I still didn't wear a mask.

I suspect a large portion of that 90% are masked because they believe they have to rather than because they believe it protects them. If they see me shopping mask-less it may  encourage some of them to do the same.

The second supermarket had around a 60% compliance rate. This doesn't mean that 40% believe that a mask doesn't protect them, it means that 40% felt so strongly about it that they were willing to oppose a mandatory rule. We need to forget about "leaders" and instead lead by example ourselves.

It's a slow and difficult process but it's the only way, and if you're waiting for some hero to ride in and save the day then you'll be waiting a long time.

then it's just you, please don't make me tell or mean what I didn't because meanwhile I still can't get a reaction to any of my open accusations against the USA or the hypothesis of a US attack on China...

Muzzles not mandatory in Wales at the moment but if they ever are I won't comply and I bet many others of the younger generations won't either. Based on what I see in my local area it's mostly much older folk (most of whom only emerged a week ago from months inside their houses "shielding" and watching the fear porn) donning them. The vast majority of people in their 20s and 30s and the teens around here don't seem to give a shit. On the seafront and shops surrounding it there are often hundreds of people without masks on, if mask wearing became compulsory here are the police going to turn up with hundreds of vans every day to arrest them all for not muzzling up?  I doubt they have the resources for that. Policing the mask thing is not as enforceable as they may think, particularly in small towns and villages where there's so few cops available anyway. And while I don't want small and medium sized businesses to be crushed any further, if they don't stand up to the nonsense and exercise some common sense in their establishment then they'll have to accept that consumers with principles are not going to put up with the lunacy and they'll be losing their custom. Everyone needs to understand they can make a choice and make waves, no one needs to acquiesce to the bullshit.

I wonder if this is why the masks are mandatory. More people will choose to shop online filling more of Amazon's pockets leaving small businesses without a website to suffer...

Maybe that's because this thread is about mandatory mask laws, not about US/ China relations??

I think that is also deliberate.

It's also an opportunity to post this, nicked from another thread here:

Of course they want you to shop online, but not just for financial reasons where the likes of their buddies are cleaning up.

They want you to do everything online, because that's where all their control and power lies.

They want you to socialise online, they want you to communicate online, to learn online...

I looked at one football match after lockdown. When a team scored, you were immediately transported to twenty living rooms of people jumping up and down.

This is the 'new normal' they're trying to promote, empty stadiums and images of people in their own homes "celebrating".
