Grumpy Owl
I went to Glastonbury Festival a couple of times, this was towards the end of the 90s. It was a great experience, for about £80 (at the time) it was a camping weekend with loads of bands to watch, so it was considered 'good value for money'. Sometimes its not all about being at the main stage watching the 'big acts', I did get to discover some bands and artists playing the smaller stages. Daft Punk at the Dance Tent. And I did get a chance to see David Bowie live, now that was a great set. Unfortunately one band I really wanted to see was REM, who were my favourite band at the time, well I do remember watching them, but because I was so pissed-up on hot and spicy cider I cannot remember a thing from their set! Back then, it was great for the younger folks, but now I'm older and wiser, I really couldn't be bothered with the whole thing, and its not cheap either now. Sadly its just become another big corporate money-making annual event, with a load of liberal wokery and agenda pushing thrown into the mix. And its all televised live now.

Interesting that you mention Jarvis Cocker as I was just about to post that he actually dedicated a song to the Supreme Court. He changed the lyrics of a song to "pricks (previously c**ts) are still running the world". I thought it might be something important, but no. He said men are still telling women what to do with their bodies. Such ridiculous hypocrisy. How can they speak up about that, and not THAT. As bloody usual. And to continually mention abortion rights without a mention of experiments on foetus, and using them to create vaccines. Why is this not common knowledge after all this time?
Observations
A virtual duet with John Lennon on I’ve Got a Feeling, with footage of the 1969 rooftop concert from Get Back, was a profound use of modern technology. Sick?
Anti Facts Sir
In bad taste, and a desperate attempt to impress today's crowd when it's clear he should have retired by now. These heritage rockers and pop stars just don't know when to give it up. It's pathetic. WTF has Diana Ross got any reason to be up on a Glastonbury stage in 2022? Observations
Glastonbury 2022: was this the most politically charged year ever? https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/movies/glastonbury-2022-most-politically-charged-142347483.html I cut out one section ... Pop and politics do mix The politically engaged had plenty to yell about, especially the US Supreme Court abortion ruling that happened during the festival. Kendrick Lamar ended his Sunday headline set with a fierce cry for women’s rights. Phoebe Bridgers led her crowd in a chant of “F*** the Supreme Court”. Billie Eilish pointedly referred to it before her song about male abusers, Your Power. Meanwhile, anti-Tory slogans were seen on numerous flags, hats and T-shirts (“This is a work event” was a good one). Glastonbury’s long-term environmental concerns were brought into sharp focus with a surprise appearance from Greta Thunberg. Hopefully no one introduced her to Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen later, who had flown all the way from the US to play for 10 minutes each with Paul McCartney. I think you'd be better off asking the blokes in the front row, they probably had an excellent view up that dress. I just find it cringey I googled the band and there's black and white photos of them. Come on man she's a few years younger than me why are they trying to pretend their 70s? I love old music but if I was talented and I started a band and tried imitating old bands from the 69s/70s/80s and the older folks on here saw it and they actually lived through it it would just be embarrassing. I'm pretty sure generations of the past used to rebel against the past culture? Yes it's all orchestrated in a way if you want to get into the truth but on a general level. Yeah be inspired from the past but it feels like a lot of these bands are trying to imitate the old bands. And there doesn't seem to be any direction towards this anger. But I would rather listen to this women than the wet leg or whatever the fuck their called. It still sounds like a bag of cats screaming though. Maybe I am getting old but the swearing at the start just made her sound like a moron. What was it some feminist shit about wanted to walk in the park? I do like alternative bands like yourself. I'm sure there will be talent coming through over the next few years and the "scene" might be good to keep an eye on. I am currently out of touch with it. I must admit I am waiting to see the libertines set. Just hoping Pete doesn't spoil it with a speech about Ukraine or something. They seemed like a good alternative indie band back in the day even though Pete's a bit of a prat and a bit of a middle class boy trying to be working class boy. Think their music and HIS music is much better than say oasis will ever be.

I remember I went to Glasto when the abomination Lady Gaga first was first foist onto the scene, before she was really big...she didn't even play the main-stage, she was on early on the Other Stage.. there seemed to be a lot of hype about her among the gays and they seemed to be her main fanbase. That's why she sang that song 'Born this Way' it's a song for gays......they love it because they think they're 'born this way'. Observations
Lorde declares: ‘F**k the Supreme Court’ and alters song during Glastonbury set after Roe v Wade overturned https://metro.co.uk/2022/06/26/glastonbury-lorde-declares-fk-the-supreme-court-and-alters-song-16895033/#metro-comments-container This week, it was announced that the Supreme Court in America had decided to overturn the Roe v Wade decision, putting an end to guaranteed abortion rights. Numerous people and celebrities have spoken out in horror against the ruling, including Viola Davis, Billie Eilish, Michelle Obama and Lizzo. Olivia Rodrigo shared a similar message during her performance, when she was joined onstage by Lily Allen. Fans cheered loudly at the monologue. She’s one of the many stars to speak out. ‘Hello Glastonbury,’ Lily cried, before Olivia continued: ‘Today is a very, very special day. This is actually my first Glastonbury, and I’m sharing the stage with Lily which is the biggest dream come true ever. ‘But I’m also equally as heartbroken.’ She then went on to address Roe v Wade, saying: ‘I’m devastated and terrified and so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this. ‘I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a s**t about freedom. ‘This song goes out to the Justices.’ The pair then went on to sing Lily’s song F*** You. ... End of article. Why are they always heartbroken? And why don't 'we' use this opportunity to highlight how foetus are used in experiments and in vaccines? They keep bringing it up, you would think it would be easier to slip it in the conversation at least?! It should surely be part of the debate?
