"Think Tank" - Why The Military Terminology?

Recommended Posts

"Think Tanks" are supposed to be "policy institutes which research and publish and lecture and work for the social good".

What is the word TANK doing in the name though?

What does a policy institute have to do with a large, heavy, armoured, difficult to stop and extremely lethal military land vehicle which crushes everything in its path ?

Correct me if i'm wrong but from memory about the invention of what is known today as 'Tanks' came about by using the word as code to confuse the enemy, in this case Germany during the ww1, who would have thought it to be containers for water, fuel, munitions.....etc.

No quite correct it was indeed used as code in WW1. but in the contest of "think tank" its referring to tank as in storage vessel

Because a mind programmed in such a way is just as you describe it, impenetrable to reality, beyond it's own nose.

This can pretty much be reversed.

Yep, you've kind of answered your own question. But really, think tanks are a fascinating subject. Just like armoured military vehicles, they are capable of driving straight over the top of people.

I was thinking about some of this today. Places like the Tavistock Institute literally create paradigms. I don't think most people even realize how much of our so-called reality is psy-op. Virtually everything which is ubiquitous is a psyop. It was shaped by social engineers. War, television, technology addiction. Nobody knows how deep the rabbit hole goes.
