The former US Army sergeant, 26, completed a 14-question intake on the telehealth company Hims.com and received a bottle of anti-balding pills at his home in January 2021. Within six months of taking finasteride, he began experiencing dizziness, fatigue, cold sweats and was slurring his words - which he described it as feeling 'lobotomized'. In fear of his mental state, he stopped taking the medication in July 2021 but soon after, even worse side effects kicked in. His libido plunged and his genitals shrank and changed shape. A painful lesson in the fear of not being good enough and vanity taking over.

All 'important' correspondence - from banks and other companies that I have subscriptions/accounts with - is sent to me via email, and I must admit that this is far more convenient for me, as well as being far more reliable. Royal Mail no doubt make money from delivering junk mail, but it seems a colossal waste of money and time whenever I put those Farm Food leaflets straight in the bin. The parcels side of the business is where the demand is, and where Royal Mail make money. I personally wouldn't feel it a loss or be aggrieved if letter deliveries were reduced to 3 or 4 times a week, but I think it would be more efficient if any letters were delivered at the same time as parcels, rather than having two different people making separate deliveries. At work, we have the strange situation where sometimes we can get three deliveries in one day - one driver will turn up with a load of parcels in the morning, then someone on foot will come and deliver some letters, then later in the afternoon someone else will turn up with more parcels. What still beats me though is those people who choose to have parcels delivered to their home address when they know they're not going to be there, and then complain to us retailers when either Royal Mail fail to deliver and return the parcel/package to the delivery office "awaiting further instructions", or they leave the parcel on the doorstep and it gets nicked! Yeah it baffles me as to why people don’t instruct us where to leave parcels when they know they won’t be in. ”please leave in blue bin.” ”please leave around the back.” my policy is if I wouldn’t leave my phone or wallet there then it’s not safe so I don’t leave it. And as for why your business gets three posties…. I’m guessing the first is bringing the early timed special deliveries by which point the mail and standard packets haven’t been sorted. Then the standard parcels go out and usually the letters are still being finished off…. And then the regular letter postman will go out. not very efficient……. I delivered parcels for Hermes (now Evri) for a number of years. I left parcels wherever I could because the simple fact was that I was paid 45p (yes, 45p!) per delivery and was expected to make 3 attempts to redeliver if no one was in. The extra attempts WERE INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL 45p!!! In other words: Until you've walked a mile in another man's shoes....................... It became acceptable for couriers to just leave parcels on doorsteps, no longer needing a signature because 'spreading the virus', and instead just taking a photo as proof of delivery. It was only last year when Fedex and Royal Mail started allowing people to sign for their deliveries, though most drivers still to this day 'forge' the signature. And many drivers don't even bother knocking the door now, they just leave the parcel, take a photo and then as far as they are concerned, 'delivery successful'. As you say, Evri and Amazon drivers are paid a pittance, so I sort of don't blame them really, and I know that other delivery companies don't like having parcels being returned to depot because it means they take up space on the delivery van the following day. Many people turned to online deliveries during the lockdowns, as they were stuck at home and couldn't go out anywhere. But as I commented earlier, many people are still having stuff delivered to their home, even if they're not there during the day now because they've gone back to work, and then they wonder why parcels are being nicked off their front doorstep.

The amount of folk moaning about it on social media was hilarious. I got stopped from entering a night club once at a halloween theme night. Not long after 9/11 and I dressed as a ninja (I had the physique back then…) but the bouncers thought I was dressed like a terrorist. Although; seeing those facial recognition vans a year or so ago made me want to dig out my balaclava. I might even still have my ‘SWAG’ bag somewhere. Some Mumsnet users have raised concerns about the length of time the images were visible and the site's use of volunteer moderators during overnight hours in the UK. In a thread on Mumsnet following the incident, one user said it was "time to rethink" the volunteer moderation system following "the truly awful photos which I will never un-see". "The site is big enough and money-making enough to support a better system by now and there really needs to be proper 24-hour IT cover" the user added. "Ms Roberts defended the use of volunteer moderators overnight, saying they were based overseas in different time zones "so they can easily monitor the site". "I don't believe this horrible incident would have been prevented had it happened in office hours with our usual moderation team in London" she said. More stories, which for me point to the PTB looking to give AI more power, when it comes to moderating the internet. And, that wouldn't amount to what most folks think it would amount to. Even if not to begin with, it would ultimately be PTB-influenced AI, under the guise of neutral AI. The headline of the first story says it all really. Then, the second story focuses more on the emotional trauma that internet moderators experience, when dealing with all sorts of extreme content, not just CSA images. The third story focuses on how the police can't cope with the increasing workload and it is explicitly suggested that more technology is needed to help. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg843y8y7no 'I wish my job didn't exist - the team that has to find child abuse images.' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crr9q2jz7y0o 'I was moderating hundreds of horrific and traumatising videos.' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c86pwy2y212o 'Police struggle with rise in sex abuse image cases.' She once said to me, 'whenever we have sex, it's like a ride on the big dipper roller coaster'! We were in the local pub one night and I asked her to tell everyone what she called me! So she did, and Big Mavis the barmaid asked 'was it because it was wild and exciting'? And she replied 'no, it was because it was all over in two minutes and made me sick for the next hour or so'! Funnily enough that was the very same night I dumped the fat, ugly, one eyed, ginger cow anyway! Edited March 25 by Mr Crabtree
Observations
Samsung CEO Jong-hee Han has died He also headed the company's merged mobile and consumer electronics division. One of Samsung's CEOs, Jong-hee Han, has died due to a heart attack, according to Reuters and CNBC. He was 63. Han joined the company in 1988 and became the head of product research and development for visual display in 2011. He then led Samsung's TV business before he was named as the head of Samsung DX, which is what the company calls its merged mobile and consumer electronics divisions, in 2021. In 2022, he officially became the company's Vice Chairman and CEO. Han had no experience in mobile before he started leading the company's DX group, but Samsung gave him credit for helping it get to the top of global TV sales for 15 years. CNBC says Han was one of the executives who hosted Samsung's annual general shareholders meeting just a week ago and answered questions about the company's poor stock performance. During the meeting, Han apologized to the shareholders, telling them that Samsung "failed to adequately respond to the rapidly evolving AI semiconductor market." He also told the shareholders that Samsung was having difficulties when it came to semiconductor-related mergers and acquisitions due to regulatory issues, but that the company was "determined to produce some tangible results this year." Based on the notice Samsung published, Han's co-CEO Young-Hyun Jun is now the sole CEO of the company. Jun, who also heads Samsung's semiconductor business, was appointed as Han's co-CEO in November 2024. It's not clear whether Samsung is planning to appoint another CEO in the future. https://www.engadget.com/big-tech/samsung-ceo-jong-hee-han-has-died-120029286.html
