This is what happens when "celebs" post about their kids or partners on "social media". Someone anonymous who doesn't like them will report it and cause them a ton of shit. Answer: keep your private/family lives private.

Who really wants to know anyway?

Well yes, there is the "narcissistic celebrity" syndrome where they feel the need to share every detail of their life on socials just for likes and attention (as well as ad revenue), but there was something in Kirstie Allsopp's reasoning that I actually agreed with.

Quote

Allsopp's son travelled to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Marseille, Toulouse, Barcelona, and Madrid with a 16-year-old friend earlier this summer.

She told social media followers she had decided to allow him to go because society is "increasingly risk averse", and children needed to develop the "confidence that only comes from trusting them".

Allsopp continued: "Confidence comes from trust and independence and from doing things by yourself.

"My son is capable. It was his idea, his plan, his savings.

"He came to me and said, ‘Can I do this?’, and I saw no reason for saying no.

“And when I mentioned that he’d done it, I wanted to be inspiring.”

I guess travelling around Europe by train isn't that 'dangerous'. And I guess that the "nanny state" would prefer that parents kept their kids at home wrapped in bubble-wrap, not able to experience the reality of adult life and independent living for themselves.

I suppose its a marked contrast to those 'influencers' that encourage young single women to travel to 'dangerous' places just to prove that "the world isn't a bad place" (and then end up killed or sexually assaulted)

I don't have an issue with what she allowed her kid to do (one minute 15-year olds are men if they go on a violent rampage, the next they need to be mollycuddled by the state). She's right to be disgusted at the fallout from telling people her "family news". But one way to reduce the possibility of hassle (and this applies to anything that could easily be kept private and offline), is not to tell the world online.

"The same doctor says he was reported on one occasion for “inappropriately” reversing someone’s diabetes on television.

We’re not allowed to do that – and certainly not on national TV when we did it,” the doctor explains.

“I honestly thought this was a joke when I started getting reported because I’m personally seeing the benefits for myself, my team, my family, my patients.”

I hope he doesn't risk a summer holiday and go hiking in the heat and have an unfortunate accident.

Prepare for power cuts in my opinion. I have a gas camping stove in case electric goes down, what other good items should I have in case we have power cuts?

Candles (at least) 😀

Head set fotaki. (lights, cant' think what it's called in English

I live in Greece and the electricity can be very off and on so I have a woodburner (cooking and heat for winter obviously), solar lights for outside and a battery storm lantern.

I have candles and considered buying some kind of electric light but would need a generator. Probably better to buy a generator when there is low demand. I remember when there was talk of power cuts they put the price up so might consider that as well. Just have to find somewhere to store it.

If it happens more often might buy one of those 3kw solar battery backups.

I bought a generator 30 years ago, I need it for collecting olives but there's no way I'd use the noisy and smelly beast for inside light, but maybe you are thinking of using as an ignition source for central heating? (I'm not at all technical so maybe that's nonsense!).

The delta-max products (in your link) are all showing "sold out".

Source?

There are often 'threats of power cuts' which always fail to happen.

Isn't that the photoshopped pic from a few years back? I usually try to blank out these images from my memory, after I see them.

Its difficult to know, there was a whole bunch of new images that came out recently, one was showing Macrons "wife" and Macron was seen "getting close" to other men on the boat.

I just saw on the news the guy who threw a cup at Farage was charged, but they also charged him for ‘using words that would cause fear’

Using words that would cause fear?
Wtf? Is that even a real criminal offence?
What have I missed, has the law changed?
What the hell has happened? This is insanity.

Soon we won’t be able to speak
