My friends doorbell records the very loud cries of passion from her neighbours. Outside in the garden most nights.

Sounds a bit saucy.

Like what they said about Germany and other totalitarian dictatorships, overwhelmingly it’s the people who snitch on each other, add all this new tech and it’s basically a gulag dressed up as ‘community’.

I remember when I used to hang out at a work colleagues house, at night his neighbour would always come to her upstairs windows and stand there in a dressing gown, letting it slip down slowly. Guaranteed to cop an eyefull every time! That made our evening spliffs in the garden all the more sweeter😉

She must have been extremely lonely or her husband wasn’t doing his duty

Sunak, thinking he is a god, wants to ban smoking because it increases the risk of strokes, heart disease, dementia and stillbirth as well as causing one in four deaths from cancer. "There is no safe level of smoking," he said.

I could say the same thing about vaccines, but he's not about to ban that!

We may complain about state surveillance, yet there's just as much going on by the people ourselves. Doorbell cameras, smartphones always at the ready to film each other and publish it in social media. Add the self-surveillance to the self-censorship because everyone gets offended so easily these days, it all adds up to social control.

and every privately owned camera will be made 'smart' so that it all feeds data into the cloud and becomes part of the states surveillance network

its amazing how blind the masses are

Now, if he had said he was going to ban 'fags,' then he would have had the whole LGBTQLEDHDTV+ community after his blood!

There may not be a safe level of smoking, but there's still a huge amount of tax revenue from tobacco duty.

If smoking is banned, that lost revenue will have to be recouped elsewhere...

A degree in magic being offered in 2024 will be one of the first in the UK, the University of Exeter has said.

The "innovative" MA in Magic and Occult Science has been created following a "recent surge in interest in magic", the course leader said.

Well, could produce the next Jonathan Creek...

Seems to be Lozza's turn now to attack his life. Interesting is they turn comments off with these types of hit pieces.

Not a massive fan of him , brand or Tate, but seems to be a coordinated attack on these folks.

BETH HALE: What turned Laurence Fox, once that lovely detective from Lewis, into a ranting misogynist whose life is in freefall?

Are people really this beholden to technology?

Tourists using sat-nav jam car in narrow Tenby footpath

A car was left jammed in a narrow footpath in a seaside town for a week after two tourists went the wrong way using sat-nav.

The driver managed to get the new Nissan Juke through a gap near the RNLI station in Tenby, Pembrokeshire.

The mechanic who helped remove it said the American women blamed the sat-nav before abandoning the car to catch a train to their hotel.

"No-one's ever got a vehicle down there before," said Stephen Lowe.

They were trying to get to St Catherine's Island, which is at the foot of the nearby beach.

Mr Lowe said the tourists drove until they could go no further.

A protected Victorian heritage wall perched on the cliff made the extraction tricky.

from https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-67032246

I would like to think that a sat-nav would have been unlikely to direct motorists that way.

Even so, surely anyone could have seen there was no way they would get their car through there?

[The walls were] touching on both sides of the car," he said. "They got it wedged and they just put more power on.

It's not 'minor news' though. Already being discussed in the 'Israel' topic:

Indeed, definitely not 'minor news'. Is there a reason why no thread has been started in the 'Today's News' forum? I expected to see one, then wondered why I didn't.

So with three shootings in a week in the town of Helsingborg, they have decided to use drones to monitor large parts of the city for the next three months.

Problem, reaction, solution? No of course not, it's just to keep people safe...

Save Our Rights UK want to raise £15000 by 23rd October 2023 for a new project that Louise Creffield seems excited about. Here, she explains why, and why she is deliberately holding back on details:

"Your continued support of Save Our Rights UK has already made a resounding impact, with our collective efforts raising £3,100 towards our goal of £15,000. Every donation is not just a contribution but a reaffirmation of our shared values and objectives

"In the spirit of transparency, I'm addressing some pressing questions you've raised:

Where is your donation being allocated?

This new campaign stands as its own distinct initiative, requiring a unique identity separate from Save Our Rights to effectively champion its specific mission. The money will therefore be used for:

Website: A digital platform that showcases our mission, updates, and a space for you to engage with us.

Branding: Creating a recognizable identity that resonates with our principles and ideals.

Copywriting: Crafting persuasive and impactful narratives that echo our values and inspire change.

Launch Event: A platform to introduce our campaign, engage stakeholders, and amplify our voice.

It's crucial to understand that while passion drives us, the expertise required to bring these elements to life doesn’t come free. We respect and value the professionals who help us, and it’s only right to compensate them fairly.

Why the ambiguity about the campaign's specifics?

While your eagerness excites us, it's paramount to safeguard the unique essence of our campaign. By keeping specifics under wraps for now, we're ensuring our idea remains undiluted and free from imitation. Rest assured, the moment is nearing when all will be unveiled.

To every prospective supporter: We understand the importance of trust. While we can't reveal all just yet, know that the essence of our campaign revolves around creating a better democracy for the UK, one where each voice is genuinely heard.

What portion of donations covers salaries, particularly yours?

From 2020 till now, I've received a cumulative amount of £7,150, of which just £700 was this year. My personal commitment has always seen me foregoing a regular wage and I'm grateful to be in a position to be of service in this way without the need of a regular wage. However, certain tasks require the expertise of freelancers and specialists like sound technicians, designers, and developers, and it's only fair they're compensated for their work.

If you want to contribute:
