I saw this earlier, and for a brief moment, I thought he had died a few years ago...

Me too. Maybe we were thinking of this from 2014...

He of course had a very long and distinguished career in TV and film, I do know him best of all from the Carry On movies, however he only ever appeared in four of them, the very early Carry On Nurse, Carry On Teacher and Carry On Constable, but the less said about the last ever one Carry On Columbus the better!

Not really a 'Carry On legend' in my opinion, but then some parts of the media have labelled him as 'Harry Potter star'.

I am still waiting for an update on this story so that I can confirm the source.

Italy. A 33 year old women, and heroin addict, previously convicted and imprisoned for robbing a twelve year old girl with a contaminated syringe has now out done herself.

Police have been made aware that this women has now stolen her cancer stricken mothers entire savings. They also been informed that she fraudulently stole money that was meant to pay for her fathers funeral expenses. Her father having died only seven days ago. It has left her mother destitute, unable to pay any bills.

I put this here because it is a minor news item but also shows a great example of the vile creatures we inhabit this reality with.

why even make a headset that can kill its wearer unless they intend for it to be used? I can imagine some sick psychopathic millionaire using this on some poor victims like some sort of horror movie

No doubt these will be mass produced at some point within the next 20 years.

I can imagine that these might be used by military training contractors and such. This might even be the future of war or more sickeningly, the future of high stakes combat simulation games like Call of Duty.

So many uses for this sick device in the future that seems to be unfolding.

The thing that stands out for me is that the value of human life is being evermore trivialised.

look what the scumbag energy companies are up to.

Rise in energy firms remotely switching homes to prepay meters

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63554879

Energy firms use the technology to swap customers who are in debt to the more costly plan without needing a warrant.

Once a smart meter is installed, it is a much simpler process for a supplier to swap the customer into prepay mode at the push of a button, rather than having to apply for a warrant and install a physical box

I hope their operatives are consumed by hungry rotties on breaking into people's properties in the householders' absence. The logic of charging higher rates to those least able to afford them escapes me. It's sheer, greedy thuggery.

my water company has just fitted smart water meters to the whole area.

not a lot you can do when the meters are located on the pavement outside your property.

Same happened round here, a few years ago now. What I don't get about water bills is you're seemingly charged for the water you use (down to the last drop), but also charged for "the water that leaves your property" (also down to the last ml). Surely that water goes down the drains, back into the system and gets recycled? What am I missing here?

if you've got a natural soak away you can get that part of the bill reduced

i've got 2 drains one for rain water and one for toilet/sink waste

This Dershowitz-Guiffre no-cash 'agreement' doesn't come close to passing the smell test:

https://www.thecut.com/2022/11/virginia-giuffre-settles-with-alan-dershowitz.html

Prince Andy (or rather us the tax payers) reportedly threw millions at her for her silence but she's now suddenly developed selective amnesia? Loadacrap.

Such a disservice to all other abuse victims who would step forward.
