The police 'probe' amounts to nothing more than posting an update on Twitter (which gets copy-pasted by the local Reach Plc news-rag) along with an 'appeal for witnesses' to come forward, as well as an appeal for anyone with CCTV footage to share it. The police then sit back and wait. The investigation then gets 'dropped' due to 'lack of evidence', as no-one bothers to come forward. If comments aren't already allowed on the article, Reach Plc disables and removes the comments, following a furious backlash from the public. Oh and by the way, this article likely only appeared on this Reach Plc site, because their 'journalists' are members of these local groups on Facebook, and use such posts as 'content' for their click-bait articles. I know this for a fact because a couple of years ago, there was a reported shooting on the estate where I live, and after posting a couple of comments on a post in the local Facebook group, I was contacted privately by a Birmingham Mail 'journalist' who basically asked me if I could send her some photos of the scene and more details on what I could see.
