Italy’s President Accepts Draghi Resignation, Calling for New Elections

Italy now ends a period of relative stability and influence and faces the prospect of a chaotic campaign that a right-wing alliance is best positioned to win.

ROME — Italy’s president on Thursday accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Mario Draghi, dissolved Parliament and called new elections, bringing to a close an exceptional period of Italian stability and influence, and opening what promised to be a chaotic political season as Europe struggles to maintain resolve in the face Russian aggression...

You can see the rest on the link.

How very  coincidental that this should happen when Bojo is recently ousted and Biden's looking increasingly likely to be at the end of his (pretend) reign - I don't think.

The Britcoin revolution! Rishi Sunak plans to introduce official digital currency to rival cash in 'biggest upheaval in the monetary system for centuries'

  • Bank of England would establish a direct digital equivalent to physical money
  • Supporters say the move will give the economy a boost during a financial crisis
  • Could slash cost and time it takes to make payments online and transfer money

Cash in people's pockets would be superseded by a new 'Britcoin' digital currency in a plan being pushed by Chancellor Rishi Sunak. In what Treasury insiders say would be the biggest upheaval in the monetary system for centuries, the Bank of England would establish a direct digital equivalent to physical money and take control of it in the same way as sterling. Its supporters in the Treasury say that it would allow the Bank to give the economy a boost in times of financial crisis by paying the 'Britcoins' directly into people's bank accounts.

Rishi Sunak refuses to disclose whether he will profit from Moderna vaccine

Tuesday 17 November 2020 5:44 pm

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has refused to disclose whether he will profit from a surge in Moderna’s share price, after the US biotech firm yesterday announced its coronavirus vaccine proved almost 95 per cent effective in trials. Sunak was a founding partner of London-based hedge fund Theleme Partners — a major investor in Moderna — before leaving in 2013 to enter a career in British politics. Stock market filings show Theleme has a $500m (£377m) investment in Moderna, which accounts for around 20 per cent of the total $2.5bn-worth of shares it manages. It is unclear whether the chancellor maintained any investment in the hedge fund following his departure. The company is registered in the Cayman Islands — a tax haven which does not require companies to make their accounts public. Sunak last year declared in a list of ministers’ interests that he was the beneficiary of a blind trust, the contents of which have not been disclosed. But Sunak today refused to disclose whether his investments included a stake in either Theleme’s fund or Moderna when his blind trust was created.

Covid vaccine: Sir Tom Jones feels 'bulletproof' after second jab

I and I suspect others on here feel bulletproof for not taking the jab.   2.5 years without wearing a mask, no hand gel, no respect for the 2 metre rule etc. and we are still here with the fake Bat-Snake-Wet Market-Bio Lab flu and its 1001 more bad arse than before mutations.

GB News:

Egypt lifts ban on photos in the street, except those that damage country's reputation.

I checked the Guardian and saw;

Egyptian nationals tourists alike have complained that authorities have requested permits for shooting in public areas, and at times seized cameras.

It is completely forbidden to take or share photographs of scenes that can, in one way or another, damage the country’s image.

Talkradio; James Whale who I almost never listen to anymore since the outrageously disrespectful way he spoke to people who were against taking the vaccine, appears to be against the mainstream view of climate change. I like to listen to views for and against things, so I flick around presenters and listen in briefly, even if it's through gritted teeth!

James mentioned the rubbish that gets thrown in the ocean.

Even quiet middle-class towns such as Solihull and Sutton Coldfield are becoming lawless dumps where feral teenagers are allowed to run wild.

Four boys, 15, arrested on bus after brawl and disorder inside two Solihull restaurants

Quote

Police have arrested four teenagers after two groups fought each other in the centre of Solihull. A brawl is said to have broken out inside the Jamaya Restaurant at Touchwood Shopping centre at around 6.15pm on Friday (July 22).

One group is said to have left the restaurant and entered Cote Brasserie nearby in the High Street, where more damage occurred in front of terrified diners. Four boys, all aged 15, were later arrested on suspicion of violent disorder as they travelled on a bus on Hobs Moat Road.

They remain in police custody. Officers are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

More trouble in Sutton Coldfield sparks fresh police powers to tackle yobs

Quote

Further disorder in Sutton Coldfield has led to new emergency powers being given to police to deal with troublemakers. Following an incident in Sutton Park earlier this week at the area where the Commonwealth Games triathlon will take place next week, police were handed powers to break up groups under a s35 dispersal order, which lasted from Tuesday (July 19) night to Thursday (July 21) night.

Now more anti-social behaviour in Sutton Coldfield town centre on Friday (July 22) has led to a new s35 dispersal order being issued at 3.50pm. More police are being drafted into the area to help Sutton police tackle the problem.

Sergeant Heather Jones from the Sutton Trinity team said: “We have had a few more incidents of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the town centre on Friday afternoon, so we have gone straight for a dispersal notice. We have extra officers from other departments to support us on Friday evening too which is great news.

“The dispersal was authorised by Inspector [Rachel] Darby at 3.50pm and runs for 48 hours. We are being robust in our approach to ASB and will not tolerate the levels of ASB we have seen recently.”

The move comes after some 200 youngsters were gathered at and around Powell’s Pool by Boldmere Gate in Sutton Park on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Witnesses reported youths ‘ drug dealing, jumping off the dam, climbing on to the Miller & Carter and throwing bricks at the Commonwealth Games site’.

In addition, some broke into Sutton Sailing Club on the opposite side of Powell’s Pool to the Miller & Carter and stole boats from the site, capsizing them and damaging and losing parts including rudders, booms and sails worth hundreds of pounds.

That incident came just 10 days before the same area is set to host the men’s and women’s triathlon events in the area, swimming in Powell’s Pool, cycling through the Boldmere and running through Sutton Park, one the largest urban parks in Europe.

It's incredibly frustrating to hear that police feel they need to have these 'special powers' (in the form of 'dispersal orders' or 'public space protection orders') before they can do anything about this loutish, thuggish, anti-social, "criminal" behaviour.

It's also worrying that much of this violent crime and anti-social behaviour is being carried out by teenagers.

But over the years, this has been allowed to fester, and it's all deliberate. Feral kids grow up to become feral adults, with no respect for decent behaviour, and then in turn they drag up a new generation of even more feral kids, who become adults producing ever-more feral kids.

People need to stop bringing up the excuse of "lack of youth centres/activities" because its becoming so tiresome. Start pointing the finger of blame at the parents for not bringing up their children correctly.

And the police need to start actually enforcing the laws that are already in place - they shouldn't need any 'additional powers' in order to deal with such troublemakers.

Get the police officers away from their desks and away from Twitter, and get them dealing with 'actual' crimes and other stuff actually happening out in 'real-life'.

According to Volcano Discovery at 11.17am UTC, Sakurajima volcano erupted on Sunday after previous eruptions earlier in the year. Pictures on social media from live cameras near Tarumizu City show smoke and lava.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a level 5 volcano warning, meaning evacuation.

Residents of Kagoshima City have been told to leave the area, after previously being told to avoid “entering the danger zone”.

Public television channel NHK reported no damage as of publication, but added volcanic stones could be seen raining down up to 1.5 miles away from the site.

Fumio Kishida, the Japanese Prime Minister, has instructed the Government to take steps to protect lives.

Yeah, I saw that one. And then today we have this:

Most fearsome gangs, their nicknames and how they became notorious on West Midlands streets

Gang members have been sentenced for their crimes

Quote

They've been dubbed the 'worst offenders', with their crimes terrorising communities, bringing destruction and even death to the streets of the West Midlands. More than 80 gangs are thought to be operating across the region, with some notorious for their decades-long criminal activity.

Turf wars have erupted between infamous gangs the Burger Bar Boys and Johnson Crew whose members have been behind robberies and murders. Other ill-famed groups include the Frankley Killers, 23 Drillas, the 61s, the 247365, Hutton Boys, Bang-Bang, B515s, Raiders, and the Wolf Pack, who have dabbled in drugs and violence.

What a delightful bunch of people. Yet it seems for some reason that the police are unable to do anything about this, and requires (as above) a 'special unit' to 'tackle' this.

Quote

Gang-related violence across Birmingham and the Black Country has become so serious that prosecutors have been forced to unite with police to open a unit dedicated on cracking down on the armies of lawbreakers. The CPS Serious Violence, Organised Crime and Exploitation Unit (SVOCE) opened last July to tackle gangs - the first unit of its kind.

Since its launch, 110 defendants have been prosecuted, securing 92 convictions. But the number of cases being referred to the unit remains 'consistently high' including gang-related murders, drug-dealing and street crime cases.

Maybe this is because the 'regular' police officers find their hands tied, "afraid" of being called racist, or whatever.

"Orders from above". Much is made of 'Tory cuts' to the police force across the country, which probably hasn't helped matters, but still, how about deploying resources more effectively? Police officers seem to have plenty of time on their hands to paint their nails in rainbow colours and attend community coffee mornings, as well as 'investigating' nasty things people have apparently posted on Twitter.

But then again, there are a whole host of reasons why young people are drawn into this 'gangster lifestyle' - ultimately it is a failing in the education system, the constant pushing of ethnic minorities being 'victims', and a failing of the police and justice systems in taking action and protecting the majority of the people from these lawless minorities.

I understand your feeliings, GO, and things could be easily sorted out, calmed down, but that would require direction from decent, normal human beings like yourself.

Her Majesty's Constabulary will not interfere with the "elite"/pyscho scum's game of human chess to any great deal.  Why ruin a good game of constant fear of crime, thus keeping the population unsettled and worried.

What sort of weedy talk is that? They're fucking low-life scum.

I find the language as usual both sickening and intriguing.

What is going on? We need a long memory, and to compare how headlines and languages change over time. We need to speak to as many older people as possible, the ones who have seen this country change so rapidly.

I don't know for sure why they use the word heart all the time, but I often tend to think of the big decision makers as cold hearted, and I think there is a message, and a smugness in there.
