Cheers Webtrekker.

Anything arts & crafty is therapeutic. We need relief from the horrors going on. Your bike ride sounds like a perfect escape.

Ah, it wasn't me doing the bike ride, it was Useyournous. I've given up riding bikes now (**sigh of relief from the public!**).

As for arts & crafty, I used to earn a bit from ebay as a sideline a few years ago. I have a contour cutter, a dye sublimation printer, and various heat presses. I used to print ceramic mugs, tote bags, magnetic party invitations, keyrings, coasters, ... you name it! This involved many areas of arts &crafts and I still keep it up as a hobby these days. I also do a hell of a lot of designing and printing (labels, stickers, packaging inserts etc) for my daughter, who has recently opened a bricks & mortar sweet shop. So I keep myself busy and don't dwell too much on the depressing side of life.

I've caught some of the coverage this weekend. I like to hear a cross section of presenters, guests and callers by doing my usual; flicking through the radio and news channels.

I'm not saying I listen so you don't have to, but ... 😉

I find it interesting to take note of the repetitive conditioning. "You can feel proud of your country"

Apparently it's the first time we've celebrated together since the 'pandemic'.

I know these two observations alone are not lost on you.

Suppressing classical left brain thinking that utilises modern and ancient word constructs of control balanced or tempered by abstract non word based creative though forms of the right hemisphere is part of the antidote, I feel (too) .

She's going to miss the Derby, and the concert. The Guardian reports she'll be watching on the telly instead. I wonder if she'll see the year out.

Well.....you know what I think about that....

You are aware that resorting to language like that shows you're loosing the argument? Does the President provide for the cost of the Whitehouse, staff and security? Are you aware of the Crown Estate?

It really is one of history's mysteries. A few twists and turns in the past explain things, but the saddest thing is how we are stuck with them. They regenerate like some fucking monster. A new fresh generation comes along and all is forgotten.

That said, they are just the tip of an iceberg. Corruption and privilege is everywhere. Once we draw the sword to get rid of the monarchy, the scabbard should be thrown away. The USA/France/USSR did not go far enough. Monarchs were replaced by monarch substitutes. Anarchy in the UK.

Even more pathetic is the continued royal arse-licking in countries like Australia. It's pathetic to watch. Like when there's a royal visit or wedding, you wouldn't believe the amount of arse licking that goes on in the media and from the average wanker on the street. Sad stuff.

Keating had the right idea with all this Queen bullshit.

And talking about 'poor.' Folk these days don't know the half of it. When I was a young kid in the 1950's we had to SAVE UP to be poor!

We were so poor 😂

I'd be amazed if at least 90 per cent of the crowd outside Buck Palace tonight weren't paid to be there.

I suspect most of them are tourists same as any crowd that gathers outside there at any other time.  I remember once visiting Windsor Castle, i think we must have been the only natives there on that day wondering around the place. It was mainly your stereotypical Japanese and American crowd, they couldn't get enough of it, often pushing passed to get a clearer view of some guard in a silly hat or a piece of crap on display (the queen seems to love china plates pretty much like every other elderly women). It was an extremely disappointing place and wouldn't go again if you paid me.

Possibly, but I doubt they would have left it to chance that a load of tourists would show up. There's no way they would have let this turn into a damp squib. On the subject of damp - thunderstorms are forecast half hour after the party. How convenient.

Sorry for sharing this 😆

The end of Charles speech ... "I know what really gets my Mother up in the morning, is all of you" ... To the Queen; "You laugh and cry with us and most importantly you have been there with us for 70 years ... You have pledged to deliver, and that is why we are here ... So your majesty that is why we all say thank you.

Now ladies and gentlemen I know the Queen is watching this with much emotion, eating a marmalade sandwich. Windsor Castle is barely 20 miles away so we all cheer loudly enough she might just hear us ... "

Drove around a bit today, to get some shopping at the usual places, and apart from a bit of bunting here and there, and a couple of front gardens with the flag plonked in the middle, I didn't see anything at all to suggest the country was celebrating at all.

But of course the media will make sure to focus on the nutjob "communities" (see: attention seeking halfwits) who do.

On both the latest royal weddings (plain kate/goofy william, princess sparkle/james Hewitt's son) the police  locked up all the "undesirables" (i.e, the homeless and locally known protestors) for 24 hours on "National Security grounds" so they wouldn't tarnish the perfect image of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland PLC.

Omg what a load of pish!

What really gets the Queen up of a morning...

1) Maid opening one's royal curtains

2) Footman#1 presenting her with breakfast in bed probably consisting of marmalade on toast.

3)Footman#2 presenting her with this mornings papers hot of the press saying "Ma'm your subjects are content with their flag waving ceremonies oh and this still a bit of a fracas in the Ukraine".
