I really don't get it. Why do so many people revere these people.

Brainwashing. As far back as I can remember, the press has lauded the royals and the aristocracy. Papers had society pages where us plebs could read about the shenanigans of our "betters" and have a giggle. They are anachronistic and maybe that's a lot to do with it as we Brits love to hark back to past glories and ERII symbolizes that.

So Queenie-poo is sitting out tomorrow as well. Not even the horsies can tempt her this time. So that's 1 day out of 3. And even the one day they chose was the one where she could only be viewed at a distance. Any chance of people getting too close, and she's orf.

I know how she feels though. I experience discomfort when I have to watch this shite.

The average British person has no idea beyond BBC ITV C4. The average Brit believes millions of other Brits have died from “THE COVID”. They don’t know anyone who died from covid or anyone who knows anyone who died from covid but millions of Brits died of covid. If it weren’t for the vaccines we’d all be dead. The queen helped us through the deadly pandemic, like she and her family helped us beat Hitler. God save the queen.
Cunts.

Before the Norman conquest English leaders were elected by a "Witenagemot" none of this blue blood crap you have today.

Totally. I was brought up as a Royalist both at home and at school. If you're brought up eating apples, you eat apples, without questioning it. But the truth as always sets you free. And if you take the time to look at it, you have to pay money for a party for a person who you every week pay money too and give special privileges too that other citizens can't enjoy - seems a bit Stockholm syndromish to me.

Watching the so called Elite entering Saint Pauls cathedral was like watching a cross between Eyes Wide Shut and the castle scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang .

Weird , sickening and total bonkers!

Haha! Love those comparisons! The Johnsons certainly have delusions of grandeur.

I've been on a couple of long bike rides to escape the jubilee. I go for comfort and drinking in the countryside, not Lycra, aggression and self-harming. The seat on my bike is as big as a footstool and I wear my joggers tucked into my socks and a baggy t shirt. I have a basket on the front where I can put my cool bag and other necessities and off I go at a slow pace escaping the norms. If I stop for a drink people say "are you ok?" because to them I look abnormal without all the expensive gear and they think I'm lost and demented because I'm not going hell for leather! I don't need a garmin to monitor me because I know the way, how far it is and I know I'm moving. I am actually burning the same calories as them but I just take longer and actually relax. I do it because I like it so the calories burnt are an extra. A bit off topic but I recommend it to get away from the mainstream torture now and again.

Yeah I remember those days. But it was a different world back then. And it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Don't know about that, i quite like the idea of being a viking roaming around the countryside with an axe pillaging stuff!  So way more fun than this conformist slave to the machine world we live in today.

Oh aye, I've heard all about these so-called 'long bike rides in the countryside,' nod nod, wink wink, know what I mean? 🤣

Boris would make an excellent Baron Bomburst!  And Philip a Grandpa Potts if he was still alive...

Personally, I'm not impressed by these entitled parasites and their fake military regalia.

Anyone remember Army & Navy stores in the UK where your parents could buy cheap ex-army clothing? We were so poor I spent the first 5 years at school dressed as a Japanese Admiral!

And talking about 'poor.' Folk these days don't know the half of it. When I was a young kid in the 1950's we had to SAVE UP to be poor!

Well I'm looking forward to a family BBQ at my brother's, probably followed by a game of Trivial Pursuit or similar

Nobody will mention HRH , and when I get home I plan to do a bit more of my 1st attempt at a watercolour landscape. Bliss! 😊

Good on you, TH. I had a bash at drawing with pastels a good while back and surprised myself. It's never too late to learn. Currently though, Photoshop serves all of my 'artistic' needs and I get a lot of fun from it.

My uncle was a self-taught Pitman Painter here in the North East and he was very good (oil on canvas).

Cheers Webtrekker.

Anything arts & crafty is therapeutic. We need relief from the horrors going on. Your bike ride sounds like a perfect escape.
