Bombadil
Hi all. Today I have a survey on my land to confirm if we have rare bee species. I know 100% they have been here. Just need to confirm if they’re living here or transient. Loads of dragonflies and hover flies out today. Will try and get some good photos.

EDIT I said I, but we collected the best photos from the gp, so not all of these I actually took myself! Can't take full credit! Or incredible illusion of reality if you prefer I enjoy very much studying flora and fauna. Thought it would be nice to see photos we have taken of nature where we are. Might encourage some to go out more and take a break from the toil of the current shite show going on. I’m especially interested in all forms of insects! obviously don’t make it too obvious where you are peeps. here are some photos from my area. enjoy the colors. 3

Tolkein who used to live locally in Moseley. I do take every opportunity to go and have a walk around, taking in the sights, sounds and smells, and observing the nature practically on my doorstep. This for me is far more entertaining than watching the latest drivel on TV. Lovely photograph Grumpy Owl. It is nice to take a break away from the screen even if it is just for a moment.

Taken not long after I’d ‘rescued’ her from about four years of horrific abuse. Took her around ten months to trust me completely; I was finally able to sneeze without her running for her life (loud noises heralded/accompanied abuse). My girl Bob; who incidentally now has only three legs; dog attack eighteen months ago; touch and go but we stuck by each other and came out good. 3

Grumpy Owl
This was taken in August 2020, I was at home in south Birmingham and it was a lovely pleasant evening, you can't quite tell from the photo but the sun had been shining and the sky was blue. Anyway at the time I took this, there was a massive thunderstorm over Walsall and Sandwell, so it was pissing down with rain at my parents house (about five miles away), and my sister was seeing lightning flashes everywhere in Walsall. Meanwhile I was still out the back in the garden in my t-shirt and shorts enjoying the beautiful weather, and this was my view of that storm from my front window! On the subject of 'distant storms', I'm still impressed with these photos I took while on the Greek island of Rhodes in 2017 - the distant coastline is islands off the coast of Turkey. This was taken from the beach, not long after that storm had dumped a load of rain and lightning where I was staying. When I zoomed in, I even got a bit of rainbow for good measure! 4
