How Long Before A Sense Of Humour Is Banned?

Ah Jerry, he's a very naughty funny man. I've been to a few of his Edinburgh shows in the past and he's pretty crude and nasty (which I heartily enjoy).

 

On one occasion he told the infamous 'Dando Joke', which goes something like this: "If I knew she was going to be shot on the Monday I would've gone round and raped her on the Sunday*"

 

*or maybe it was Tuesday, I can't remember, but works either way.

 

One year he didn't do any comedy, just card tricks, and they were pretty good. At the end, with a bit of goading, he began to tell his 'Maddie Joke' but was sadly ushered off stage by an official (could've been a stunt I suppose).

 

Anyways, I'm disappointed to hear he's been silenced but not surprised - woke fascists seem to run and ruin everything these days. The intolerance of tolerance and all that.

People don't even realise what is happening before their eyes. 

In that article Viccie's daughter says she is now fed up that she cant make a joke without some fake offense being taken.

I mean, there are shows about naked dating and yet we can't just have a laugh at some 40 year old sit com which was such a big part of our earlier culture.

We are witnessing a puritanical swing in motion. Next step will be rounding up women to be used as sex slaves or brood mares aka The Handmaids Tale....

So Ban Laughter... After all you got to be serious if they are gonna accept, Social distancing , No Christmas, Monkey Pox will get you, No sitting, standing, walking or driving with out permission in writing at least 3 months before that journey so it can be assesed as essential.

Hi Robin, Gee it's like the 70s here. Whenever there's an opportunity to attack feminism, even if irrelevant to the topic at hand which is censorship, they'll go for it, highjack it and get ppl arguing about feminism. Some things never change.

I think you are being over sensitive. Nobody is attacking anything and I'm certainly not arguing about feminism, which is irrelevant to the topic at hand.

The year is Geldof 42 (2072 old calendar) and Citizen 9234 of the Chegwin 15 minute confinement zone asks his-her-it's designated partner 7352 why he-her-it is viewing illegal comedy shows from a hundred years ago,under pain of re-education interment?

 

The reason outlined was because it was around this time that enjoyable humour was outlawed and replaced with "alternative" then "obnoxious" comedy in which only straight white alpha Christians were legitimate,indeed legislated targets and if you didn't cuss every other word you were a pussay....
