spideysensei
Vegans are often sickly, unhealthy and docile. Fact is you just can't absorb the nutrients from plants that you can from animal products. Supplements are ok but shouldn't be relied upon. Even though i'm actually in the business of selling supplements , if you need pills to make up your nutritional requirements you're probably eating poorly. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-nutrients-you-cant-get-from-plants#1.-Vitamin-B12

War = Peace Vegan diet = Healthy Ignorance = Bliss I should've added, in my experience :-) Some athletes i gather are vegan, but i'm going to stick a leg out and say they're in the minority and probably fit and healthy enough to deal with an inferior diet. I'm in 2 minds really, i like a lot of the yogic philosophy and they say we can only achieve higher states by going veggie, but i also know what my teeth were made for, and where my body best absorbs its nutrients. A lot of the yogis go further and hardly eat at all living off Pranayama. If you look at some of the greats in the past, OSHO, Ramana Maharshi - physically they were in very poor condition. Other spiritual "masters" if you like, in countries such as Africa, Australia and South America manage just fine with their consciousnesses eating meat. alexa
Hot dog of the future? Lab-grown pork SAUSAGES are made from a single cell from a pig - and they sizzle just like the real deal An innovative food company has today revealed their new lab-grown sausage, that sizzles just like the real deal. Meatable grows cultivated meat from just a single cell from an animal, replicating the natural growth of muscle and fat. The sausage is the first product to be announced by the Dutch company, which aims to create real meat without harming the environment or animals in the process. Daan Luining, co-founder and CTO of Meatable, said: 'This isn't just like meat, it is meat - 100 per cent delicious meat, identical on every level, but without any of the drawbacks. This is one step on our journey to creating the new natural meat and I'm looking forward to seeing how the product develops before we can bring it to consumers in the next few years.' KingKitty
On 4/29/2022 at 12:57 PM, Grumpy Owl said: Animals that are reared for food production have a 'purpose'. People that 'care passionately' about animals fail to see this. If there is no need to breed, rear and care for animals such as sheep, cattle or chickens, in order to produce food, then there is no real need for these animals to exist. If these creatures have no 'purpose', then it becomes a waste of resources to provide for and care for them. Therefore if there is a push to make all humans 'vegan', by making all meat products 'plant-based', then all the animals reared for meat production just become 'useless eaters' themselves, and end up becoming culled and extinct. The animal rights activists don't seem to have cottoned on to this aspect yet. I tried explaining the story of the chicken who lived without it's head, to a vegan that insisted, "chickens have empathy". It's a true, simply story, yet it never fails to turn the eyes of any vegan or PETA type into vacant vacuums of space. Again, this is a true story: On September 10, 1945, farmer Lloyd Olsen of Fruita, Colorado, was planning to eat supper with his mother-in-law and was sent out to the yard by his wife to bring back a chicken. Olsen chose a five-and-a-half-month-old Wyandotte chicken named Mike. The axe removed the bulk of the head, but missed the jugular vein, leaving one ear and most of the brain stem intact. Due to Olsen's failed attempt to behead Mike, the chicken was still able to balance on a perch and walk clumsily. He attempted to preen, peck for food, and crow, though with limited success; his "crowing" consisted of a gurgling sound made in his throat. When Mike did not die, Olsen instead decided to care for the bird. He fed it a mixture of milk and water via an eyedropper, and gave it small grains of corn and worms. There's more to the story, Mike goes on to fame, doing shows, etc. My point to the vegan chap was, if chickens had "empathy", as he kept insisting (I think he just learned that word and wanted to use it a lot, too), why didn't Mike's co-workers freak out when she showed up to work without her head? Unable to answer, he immediately fires back how they protect their young. I explained that, to the chicken and other animals, their young are an extension of themselves. They are doing what all creatures do, protecting themselves. As a human with complex emotions, with perceive things, such as a hen rounding up her chicks as a Disney moment. They are just trying to survive. Those chicks are merely a part of them that must continue on and survive. Meanwhile, everyone else in the room was on their computers, reading about the headless chicken, so there was a lot of, "Dude!" and "No way!?!" in the background as the vegan chap continued to mutter something about "empathy..." My bigger point is, I believe that God...or a God-like creator or kindly, advanced artificial intelligence, or Tom Cruise...created animals like chickens, for us humans to eat. They haven't a fucking clue whether or not they have a head. And, should a chicken with a head see a chicken without a head, neither freaks out. I'm uneasy seeing another human with a bad haircut. I would also like to point out that, just because we eat them and they are stupid, doesn't mean they should be treated with disrespect while alive and under our care. alexa
Russell Brand doing his masters bidding. Villagers' anger as Russell Brand plans to turn their traditional Grade II-listed 15th century pub into a trendy vegan restaurant The comedian and actor (left), 47, purchased The Crown pub (right) in the rural village of Pishill, Oxfordshire, with wife Laura in March 2020. The rustic pub, the only in the village and currently temporarily closed, was popular both among locals for dining and as an idyllic wedding venue. It comprises of a former coaching in dating back to the 15th century, along with outdoor seating, a car park, a detached barb, a two-bedroom cottage and a garage. But Brand, who is said to have upset locals after using the pub to perform a stand-up set, is now understood to want to turn it into a vegan diner.

And according to some of them (Yogis and such), it's the only way to reach higher states of consciousness. Not sure about that personally. My inflammatory comment as it were had the vegans i've known in mind and what they eat/how they live. You can eat ok as a vegan with a varied enough diet, but you'd probably still be lacking in things like b12 and certain proteins.
