IRAQ WAR. Ramadi 2007

Hi,

I was in 1st ID out of Germany on tour in Ramadi back in 06-07 as a Scout on the PSD team when Sheikh Sattar got blown up by Al-Qaeda in his backyard on his way to see his camels. it was an inside job and there were two devices one in the ground and a car bomb. I remember this day and what the hole looked like in the ground. where his house was next to Camp Ramadi, we called his place the green bowl. I've never figured out why and I've never asked. We were just at his place of residents before he got blown up. i remember his son playing with an ak-47. I have photos of me and the Sheikh and some commanders. Actually, I have whole hard drive of my two deployments of 07 and 09. I always wondered if those people are still alive... I remember there was a white and blue guard shack next to the dirt bridge that had the bomb buried in it. There were also a few concrete barriers that we call serpentines.

His funeral was crazy as well with the amount of people that carry the casket and everybody with guns... I was definitely on high alert when pulling security for that mission.

I don't talk much about my time in combat and the things I saw and done. I took many photos and videos of my time in combat. I honestly don't even need to look at them all I have to do is go to sleep and it plays over and over in my mind. Some think I'm just staring off into space or "day dreaming".... Nah I'm having a flashback.

so the photos I uploaded were on our way to the green bowl passing the water tower in town.... that's another story along with the glass factory.

and the other is the aftermath of the IED. Any questions please let me know.

It's hard to even imagine what people like you involved in such combat actually go through. My son has known a few military guy friends of his, and the effects it has had on them. Thank you for the pics. I have a question...when you say you believe Sattar was an inside job...what made that clear to you?

I took a look and it seems Al Qaeda took responsibility...question erroneous. ;-)

But heres another one... how long before he was blown up were your group at his residence?  Looks like you had a narrow escape?

Well what made it clear to me was after the BDA was established and having the translators talk to the other guards on guard and looking a logs to see who was on duty and investigating the names of the persons through MI then AL Qaeda took responsibility. Plus, the things Sattar was trying to do for the An Bar Provence Al Qaeda did not like or want to happen..

I wouldn’t call it narrow but maybe an hr after we left.. my thoughts is that the persons waited until we left because they knew Sattar would not be engaging in any other activities besides talking with the LTCOL.

What is BDA ( excuse my ignorance on the subject).

What was Sattar wanting to do?

Sorry to hear this.

I take it what you hear on MSM and being there was a different story?

Just been listening to someone who is a great great son (Mr X) of a royal family from the past and he was invited by Sadam and he arranged him to stay in the top floor of the best hotel in Iraq and dined with Sadam and his sons. He was invited because Sadam thought he had connection to important people in the country which he did..... and Sadam wanted to tell him the truth of the situation. So Mr X asked Sadam whether he possessed a weapon of mass destruction and Sadam sworn on Allah that he didn't. For a muslim person to say such thing....must have been true.

MSM lol.

Look back at the 98 with the neocons, Kuwait oil and UN.. Then jump to 9/11, US trained Al-Qaeda, Iraq oil, Bush and Cheney(oil guys).. what was Osama doing at that time and with who and who were they connected to.  you start to see the picture. invade 7 countries, "they" want our footprint there, try to install their own puppets in the government. Yes men. you know the normal things the crazies at the top do.

yes they let kids play with real guns over there.

it was clear one moment then the next was a sandstorm... thats what they really look like.

some of our recon missions we did lp/op watching people work to see if they are planting bombs in the road.

I wonder if these kids are ok.

*I will not post any disturbing photos or video of my time over there*
