JCP
I've had good results using lavender essential oil in aromatherapy for insomnia. I place a diffuser on the nightstand and turn it on 30 minutes prior to going to bed. Other essential oils that claim to help induce sleep are chamomile, clary sage, ylang ylang, bergamot, sandalwood, valerian, and some companies offer blends (or you can make your own); but lavender works for me, so I haven't had to try anything else. Learning to meditate taught me to empty my head of all thought and concentrate only on the breath, which comes in handy when you're trying to fall asleep. It's not always easy to quiet your mind from over analyzing and over thinking before you drift off and it requires practice.
DaleP
Check your bed position as well Captain. Energy tends to gather around the corner so if you have your bed and head in the corner like the bottom left hand corner in the image below, sleep like the upper right hand corner. When you think about it, hotels place a double bed right in the middle to encourage peaceful sleep. If you light an incense, the smoke should rise sraight up and calm but if you get a spiral smokes it means there is much stuck energy that gives you sleepless night. Obviously, check to see if a corner is drafty or not. Corners tend to collects dusts as well so you can imagine how energy might gather there. Also corners give off harmful energy, it's all to do with geometry, angles and all that. 1
DaleP
Also.... If you print out this symbol (make it at least 10 cm) and stick it on the four corners of your bed, it would increate vibration of your sleeping area and you'd feel more comfortable and rested within 48 hours. This experiment will cost you virtually nothing so try it.

Thanks Use red light, wherever you can. Stay away from blue or white light. Go to any amateur astronomy club to see why red light is so important for night vision etc. It's much better to put you into a sleepy state. https://www.nps.gov/articles/dark-adaptation-of-the-human-eye-and-the-value-of-red-flashlights.htm

Beth
Around here, we take Black Elderberry Syrup. We get ours from Amazon, they deliver quickly and right to the door. We take it something like 30 minutes before our normal bedtime, and when we start to feel sleep coming on, to bed we go. It comes with a dose cup. We don't take a full dose cup full. A little dab according to directions works well for us. If we take, say, a dose cup full, we are sleepy all the next day. We've had neighbors ask about it, they take it now and are doing very well. Some of them have some really serious health issues which are magically getting better now. If we have an infection, during the day we take Black Seed oil for that and we also take vitamins as well. That is what we do. A lot of people are experiencing gross stress now, with all it's complications.

DaleP
Until you try you don't know but I reckon, your negative thinking, depression, stress, sleeping problem are all related and due to accumulation of negative energy which needs clearing. I don't know if you know how to do but when you do, the feeling of stress will melt like butter and you'll feel so relaxed that you want to sleep there and then. Much like how you feel after having a proper therapeutic massage (not the naughty kind). It's possible that someone sent something consciously or unconsciously towards you which is creating your negative thinking/depression. Not all of our physical illness or negative thinking are due to our fault. I am well aware of these things so if I suddenly start thinking or feel depressive for no reason, I get to work. No point in wearing dirty all over my aura. I've discovered a new one (I know loads) yesterday and it was fantastic. The trouble is, when you are clean, you become attractive. I don't mean beauty/handsom but like magnet and people keeps bumping into me to steal energy unconsciously. I don't know how many people did that today! After all, if you are dirty, nobody wants to come near you. Obviously I am talking in terms of invisible sense. When I say clearing, people don't know more than salt bath, smudging, crystals etc.... I guess each to their own but I recommend you to do an extensive research on this subject. You will benefit from it in years to come and your life will improve in every way. I searched far and wide over the years.

It's like trying to hide smell with weed. It's still there. 56 minutes ago, Captainlove said: Thanks, I understand what your saying here. I do tend to get into fights and road rage alot recently. I wonder if im attracting alot of negative energy. Could you exlpain more about the clearing as i dont know about this. It's a vicious cycle you are in. You are not feeling good, irritated so you attract more of it and manifest it as road rage, fights and on it goes. No.1 thing is to do cleansing first. Then you can start to act correctly so that you do not create more of the bad stuff. Basically what you put out there, you get back as a reflection, the world outside is your reflection. I suggest start looking into clearing 'evil eye'. It can create illness, bad luck for a start. To make it visual, it's like having many daggers on your back, no wonder you are not feeling good. lol Strangers are lovely and throw these so freely. Now you know why celebrities wear the red string on their wrist. It's to do with Mars. What does Mars do? One day, you will thank the drivers for giving you hard time. By then, it doesn't matter if they are still shouting, you know that you are not going to get affected and be smiling knowing what they are doing to themselves. I am only giving you pointers and not giving you fish because you'll need more than one method and you'll find out the reasons why that is along the way. It's upto you whether you are going to give up at the first hurdle and make your life even darker and die OR look for solutions as if your life depends on it and I don't think it's an overstatement. Imagine if you were having a worst case of flu and you still have to go and work in rain while everyone is tucked away nicely in dry warm bed. I was crawling but still kept going. One step ahead is one step ahead and I'm sure your life will improve if you learn. 1

MFM
Hello CaptainLove! I hope hope you've gained control of your stress and worry and are able to get a good night sleep again. If it haven't improved since you made this post I'll recommend the following: - minimize your intake of caffeine, alcohol etc. - minimize Social Media consumption - Quit porn (if you're addicted) - Eat and drink proberbly - especially drinking so you don't feel dehydrated. Try to consume most of the water during the day and try to avoid drinking alot before going to bed so you don't have to be interrupted in your sleep going for a piss. - Exercise or at least move so your body becomes naturally tired - Breathwork! Can't emphasize the importance of this one. Deep diaphragmatic breathing is the right way to breathe, and with this modern lifestyle, many of us have this shallow breathing pattern. Learning to breathe correctly (if you don't) and being conscious of your breathing pattern can help on calming your nerves and reduce stress and anxiety. There are plenty of guides and information on this :) - Try focus on something else for a while. Do some journaling, meditation, read a book or something else that finds your interest and make this your go to when feeling unwell. Hope this can help you to a slightly better day and night.

Skotfreezy
some things i've learned from the veterans admin. are these: allow yourself enough time to sleep at night and keep aa regular sllep sched. try to unwind before bed.. some ppl read a book or listen to white noise try not to nap during the day and def avoid using electronics at night the blue light stimulates the brain especially the part that makes you alert. of course, use the bed only for sleep and intimacy, and if your stressed identify the cause and adjust. Hope this helps you!!!!

I've had some good results when breathing in a class and found it incredibly therapeutic. Definitely something we need to learn how to do. Some people would find that very hard to belive? Thanks everyone, great thread. The tone of the voice is key for me to fully relax and give in to the practice. I agree about the therapeutic feeling of the group sessions, where you can share the experience with others, but achieving the same feeling and lightness alone is not impossible. I'm currently using a guided breathwork-guide from a WHM trainer in Denmark, but it's in Danish and very similar to The Wim Hof guided breathwork meditation on YT. However I think there's too much talking in the breatwork-guide from Wim Hof on YT. I prefer a guide like this one below, where there is minimal talk to just keep you on track. For me it's resulting in less thinking and more feeling and awareness which kinda resets my brain, lowering stresslevel and much more. Key factors here is to not necessarily follow the breathing - find your own flow and then catch up on the last breath before breathhold.
