Slightly awkward.🤡🍿

 

Controversy arose though when Zelensky included a video message from a member of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, who claimed to be Greek.

The appearance of the neo-Nazi fighter prompted SYRIZA MP’s Nikos Filis, Thodoris Dritsas and Yiannis Giolas to walk out of the session.

“The speech by members of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion in the Greek Parliament is a challenge. They spoke of a history day, but it’s a historic shame. Solidarity with the Ukrainian people is a given. But the Nazi cannot have a say in parliament,” said SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras.

Following this, government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou said “Including a message from an Azov Battalion member was wrong and inappropriate.”

For his part, the Azov Battalion fighter, who claimed to be Greek but could not speak Greek, said in Ukrainian: “I am addressing you as a Greek.”

“My name is Michael, my grandfather fought in the war against the Nazis, I was born in Mariupol and I participate in the defence of the city,” he added.

The Azov Battalion are based in Mariupol and have long led a campaign of terror against civilians, including the 120,000 Greeks that live in the port city and its surrounding villages, including Sartana.

With Russian forces besieging Mariupol, in which 120,000+ ethnic Greeks live, SKAI news spoke with a Mr Kiouranas who lives in the city and exposed that Ukrainian “fascists” are killing people for trying to leave the city.

When asked by SKAI news if he planned to leave the city, Kiouranas responded “how can I leave? When you try to leave you run the risk of running into a patrol of the Ukrainian fascists, the Azov Battalion.”

“They would kill me and are responsible for everything,” he added.

It would show a "staged fake explosion," an official said.

The United States said Thursday it had intelligence that showed Russia is planning to create a video depicting a fake Ukrainian attack, that it could release in order to justify its own invasion of Ukraine.

 

One of a number of options Russia has been allegedly planning, U.S. officials said, was to "stage a fake attack" against Russia or Russian-speaking people.

 

"As part of this fake attack, we believe that Russia would produce a very graphic propaganda video, which would include corpses, and actors that would be depicting mourners, and images of destroyed locations as well as military equipment," Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.

 

The United States took the rare step of making this intelligence public in order to dissuade Russia from moving forward or, if it did move forward, to make it more difficult for it to spread disinformation after the fact, according to Jon Finer, the principal deputy U.S. national security adviser.

 

“This is clear and shocking evidence of Russia’s unprovoked aggression and underhand activity to destabilize Ukraine," Britain's foreign secretary, Liz Truss, said.

 

It is not the first time in recent weeks that the United States had accused Russia of "fabricating a pretext" to justify invading Ukraine.

The Kremlin on Wednesday dismissed the new allegations.

 

Remember 2003 when Colin Powel lied in a speech to the United Nations and told them that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction as well as Chemical Weapons.

 

And now the same shit different day. We knew the moment the Cheney's entered Congress in January with Liz playing Democrat that a War was coming, they're War mongers and Arms dealers after all.

 

Basically this is all part of NATO expansion. Ignore all the day to day noise that's all propaganda. In the several past decades we've seen the U.S and NATO kill one dictator after another as if caught up in each of their wars.

 

  • Saddam Hussein, Iraq (1937-2006)
  • Muammar Gadhafi, Libya (1942-2011)
  • Vladimir Putin, Russia (1952-20??)

 

People should be brave.

Morning DarianF,Cannot agree more,and oh so very very prescient right now and considering it was made in 2005 ? was there a hint of what was coming?.Yuri Orlov who the film is based is now long gone however we now have less ''Independent'' arms dealers ie governments slinging near end of shelf life stuff into Ukraine and thus the cycle continues ...We have donated so many missiles and manpads and javelin and stinger we need new stuff ...arms manufacturers get building we have defence budgets to spend ...We need everything cry the governments spending other peoples money  and the arms manufacturers get their tins of glee out,rubs their hands vigourously,think of the profits and start a circle jerk

 

Think i may chill out this afternoon and watch it again as i haven't seen it for a while

I actually meant to thank you. I'm glad you've reminded me about this film because I haven't seen it for years (but I never forgot it), and your post has confirmed to me I need to watch it again ASAP. As with many things like this, it is probably more relevant now than ever.

I'm not feeling guilty for a bunch of western politicians starting wars when they have links to Russia. That crap was never in the interest of western people. It was them that helped make us the Great Satan, Russian thinkers admit this.

 

As if those red bastards don't have a history of lying too. Katyn massacre, anyone?
