Egyptian Religion and Mythology

Mr H

Recommended Posts

I want to research more on the topics of Egyptian Religion and Mythology.

Do not want to read any mainstream historical text and also something that isn't reliable.

So I am looking for recommendations of reliable sources on the above topic. I.E. someone has read them and to some extent at least taken the time to try and validate the information as best as they can.

I am also looking for texts, and not youtube videos.

If you know of anything that maybe of help to me, then I appreciate your suggestions below.

Thank you.

Best.

Mr H

May I ask what a ancient text looks like that is not mainstream ? ... Unless it is under the Vatican, it is mainstream and accessible to all.

The truth is hidden in historical texts from the time such as the Pyramid texts and individual stories of gods on pottery , burial sites and other ritualistic items.

The truth is like a field of wheat. each piece of the total picture is there , but it is independent from one another and changes a little depending on what angle you look at it.

The god Atum is the Father from the Nag Hammadi texts.

Is there any specific route that you wanted to go down in terms of research ? . Are you looking for general history, history of the King's, or of the God's ?

What exactly are you interested in? I can share exclusive materials about the history of ancient Egypt

Ty sorry I didn't see this post.

What I am particularly interested in are the stories and myths they had, that have been copied and used by the Christian faith. I'm trying to trace back the bible to it's original sources - I think Eygptian mythology has played a huge role.

The Pyramid Texts are the oldest religious texts in ancient Egypt dating from c. 2400-2300 BCE. The Coffin Texts were developed later from the Pyramid Texts c. 2134-2040 BCE while the Book of the Dead (actually known as the Book of Coming Forth by Day) was set down sometime c. 1550-1070 BCE.

Why would you want to reject anything mainstream? Why not consider all evidence from all perspectives? You get a much more comprehensive view that way. I usually suggest Graham Hancock for people who don't exactly want the standard line, but also who don't want whack job crazy. A good start for sure.

Good luck.

Hi Mr H. I also find this area of study very interesting. I tend to read alot of antediluvian books as well as early civilisation such as Sumerian. I’ve certainly found massive amounts of comparisons Sumerian text and the bible written later. Noah was originally from Babylon if I’m correct. Even though it’s is not Egyptian, Andrew Collins has written a couple of books about Denisovians and Gobekli Tepi. In these he is trying to trace links between different cultures whether through religious practices or common mythology etc. sure you already know all this,

Biblioteca Pleyades could always form a starting point for alternative research in respect of ancient civilisations. You can find a library of documents specifically for 'Egypt - The Land of Kem' on the site including translations of Egyptian treatises such as the Pyramid Texts and the Book of the Dead.

https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/esp_egipto.htm

I cannot unfortunately vouch for all the material. I would always encourage everyone to exercise their own discernment as to what they feel is reliable and for what resonates with them.

And this is the link to the main list of archives for even wider reading.

The key symbol relating to Egypt and Christianity is the Staff of Asclepius. It relates to the crucifixion (John 3:14) and to the contest between Moses and the Egyptian magicians. This in turn goes back to the Abrahamic covenant and the role of blood sacrifice. In the Christian context the serpent represents the murderous priesthood.

so you don't think the serpents are the pingala and the sushumna winding up the spine of the initiate?
