It should actually go without saying, and it would be even better not to have to say it in the first place, but when someone comes trotting along and says their race is better than all others, or their skin colour is better than all others, then it does have to be said, and I don't care if it's a black person making the boasts, a white or brown person, or any person boasting about their race. It's like sexuality gone sour. Why should I be proud of something that's just an illusion? Getting hung-up on skin colour only brings unhappiness. Skin colour is an irrelevance. In my life, all the people I've known, who were hung up about skin colour, were unhappy, had social problems, and weren't liked. I'm not half anything. I am a full person. Why do say to me, "why hide"? That's never even crossed my mind. To me that just comes across as an unnecessary patronising comment. One of the forumers was saying that in black spiritual circles, black people are seen as more spiritual because they can absorb more sunlight because of their skin colour....nonsense of course... I turned that around and said 'what if I said white people are more spiritual because of their skin colour' etc... Such a comment wouldn't merely be nonsense it would be considered racist. But I'm pleased you've highlighted this.... I think white people need more credit these days for their achievements rather than the abuse and hatred which is slowly being worked up against them in academia and left-wing political currents which seem to have infected all our institutions. It may come as news to you, but a lot of black people feel the same way about the way they are treated by whites, so what you get is extremism and a polarisation - blacks, who feel victimised, and whites who also feel victimised - these two extremes being the opposite sides of the same coin. What has value? What is worth protecting from the nihilists? What sustains us, what brings justice, what brings meaning to our existence as human beings I think there is something in the fear that western civilisation is under attack and i think its a mistake to simplify the worlds problems down to simply blaming 'capitalism' as we don't really have capitalism.
