At a couple of points in that video you can see 'jets' of fire shooting out - fuel or maybe hydrogen? I'm not completely familiar but I don't believe an EV battery would explode and burn like this. I'm thinking that this is an electric vehicle or van that was carrying gas bottles, the flare jets are similar to what has been observed before with lithium battery, but the explosions are more likely gas bottles that were in transit, not much left of the vehicle to identify. DaleP Posted May 20 Share Posted May 20 tbh, I don't know ins and out of lithium battery but it includes Cobalt apparently. So we are carrying mobiles, tablets, laptop and it's radiating us. I thought it was the signal but it's actually the battery! Then imagine electric cars burning....that's some release of radiation there. But these lithium batteries have been superceeded by Sodium batteries which have none of the fire problems and use sodium a very abundant metal... These sodium batteries were on the drawing boards decades ago but supressed so people paid excess for inferior and troublesome lithium batteries .... I'm surprised Sodium batteries are getting out now! There is economic competion between variouse power bases (China and the West ) , and at some point the greed to make money overcomes the overall global plan to impoverish the people. The video shows the bike producing a highly flammable and toxic vapour cloud, before igniting in a fireball a second later. Avi Gooransingh, 29, the owner of the bike, said he was “shaken up” by the incident and will not have another e-bike in his home again.
