Lebanon left without power as grid shuts down - BBC News

Lebanon has been left without electricity, plunging the country into darkness amid a severe economic crisis.

A government official told Reuters news agency the country's two largest power stations, Deir Ammar and Zahrani, had shut down because of a fuel shortage.

The power grid "completely stopped working at noon today" and was unlikely to restart for several days, they said.

Very true, you only have to look at the US infrastructure so see its deliberately been allowed to decay. with Lebanon it seems to be a combination of government corruption and economic hardship. remember Lebanon fought back against Israel and for that they must be punished.

It does seem like it doesn't it. I feel so sorry for the Lebanese people, and also the Yemenis. both countries are in a state of collapse.

That's totally normal in eastern countries. basically the electricity provider installs a power pole and you connect to it. I remember being in a village in China and the village had just one power pole with the entire village connected off it. looked exactly like the above picture.

These events will sweep across the globe. They are taking nation by nation. But what's really terrirfying is that things which go bump in the night have had encounters with humans. This information is not being shared by news outlets.
