She never smiled either, she was in constant bitch face mode. Counselor Troi from TNG, Jadzia Dax (with her hair down) from DS9 and Yeoman Rand from TOS are the ones for me! I was always more up STTNG's Natash Yar/Denise Crosby: Though from memory she looked better on screen acting than in the rather serious, Chief Security Officer, publicity shots left on tge internet. In retrospect, had I been 10-15 years older it may have been Colonel Wilma Deering /Erin Gray from Buck Rogers for me.

She looked like a bloke, behaved like a bloke and had zero personality! A bit like seven of nine when it came to that, way too serious. She was far better and more suited as the Romulan character that appeared later in the series (but even then i didn't find her attractive)!!!

In the first series Whorf is basically her subordinate.... she was supposed to be the one with the balls..... but no-one bought it and I guess writers couldn't write for such a ridiculous character and she couldn't act so she eventually quit the show really seeing that she had no place in it. I don't know why but I always had a thing for Ro Laren. She was sexy as hell and I guess I liked her tight bob haircut, headband and rebellious nature...sexiest Star Trek girl eva! And that Star Fleet uniform was just made for her... Not a seedy guy who leers after TV chicks at all....girls are only secondary to a true sci-fi nerd like me, but she was just all round awesome: a great actress who bought into and invested herself in the role 100% and a fantastically well-written character. And a strong female and I love nothing more....but we only get fake female power these days, this is a rare example of a genuinely powerful female figure. Truthspoon
Sorry....I'm on one now. Awesome episode where Ro Laren and Geordi Laforge both phase shift as part of a transporter accident and cannot be seen by any of the crew and think they're dead but are just 'out of phase' with the rest of the crew. Some of the best episodes actually feature Ro Laren. Another one where although Riker hates Laren because she is so insubordinate they end up banging when they all have their memory wiped in one episode as part of an attempt by the Satarrans to destroy the Lysian empire using the superior fire power of the Enterprise and convincing an amnesiac crew that they are at war with the Lysians...... I think a testimony to the strength of the actress to create a believable 'secondary' character who is not part of the main crew, a feat also achieved by Howling Mad Murdoch actor Dwight Shultz who also made TNG all his own. Legends. Edited November 4, 2021 by Truthspoon

I remember the one episode when her and Troi were bumping heads... When Troi is the most senior officer on the bridge during an emergency and she hasn't got a clue what to do! Ro Laren is like (reflecting the audience)... Wtf? Why is there a counselor on the bridge anyway?!?
