RobSS
A German city cancels Wieland Wagner Due to Wieland Wagner's association with the National Socialists, and his close relationship with 'Uncle Wolf' - Adolf Hitler - Wieland-Wagner-Höhe, in Stuttgart, has been renamed Heinrich-Heine-Höhe by the City council. Up until 1933, the viewing platform was originally named after the Jewish poet, Heinrich Heine (1797-1856), one of Germany's greatest poets. Wieland Wagner was Richard Wagner's grandson. His mother, Winifred Wagner, often invited Adolf Hitler to stay with her in Wahnfried, the house that Richard Wagner built as his residence, in Bayreuth. Du bist wie ein Blumen (Heinrich Heine) (You are like a flower, English translation © Richard Stokes) You are like a flower, So sweet and fair and pure; I look at you, and sadness Steals into my heart. I feel as if I should lay My hands upon your head, Praying that God preserve you So pure and fair and sweet. Moonlight
Winifred Wagner was a great admirer of Adolf Hitler I once saw an Interview with her and she said - that after the War - they had a secret code when talking about Hitler.....it was USA......which meant "Unser seliger Adolf" in english "Our blessed Adolf" Wagner himself was an Anti Semit whereas King Ludwig 2 - who was an admirer of Wagner - was not known as Anti Semitic
RobSS
Winifred Wagner was English and a friend of Oswald Mosley, whom she invited to Bayreuth. When her son, Wieland Wagner, grew up, he had a high wall built up to separate his house from his mother's, in order to distance himself from her, as she never gave up her adoration of Hitler to her death. If Wagner were around in Nazi Germany, he would've hated the National Socialists as they would've interfered with his artistic aspirations. He wouldn't have let Hitler anywhere near his house in Bayreuth. His antisemitism probably became instilled in him when he went to Paris as a young man, where he complained of being badly treated by Jews who owned the the theatres, so for the rest of his life, he had a bit of a chip on his shoulder. To his credit, he was the greatest music drama influencer the world has ever known, and his incredible insights into the human psyche were well ahead of his time! RobSS
Yes, antisemitism was common in Richard Wagner's day, but if Wagner saw talent, he would forget the chip on his shoulder and his prejudices and that the person was a Jew, as with the Jewish conductor Herman Levi, who Wagner selected to conduct his last opera. Not a small honour, by any means! Herman Levi was also in the German news recently, did you spot that? What a coincidence, I visited Venice in 2019, and visited the Jewish Ghetto. RobSS
What a coincidence! I remember it was quite a long walk to get to the Jewish Ghetto but it afforded a look around some of the parts of the city I might not otherwise have seen. In the winter months, Wagner rented the first floor apartment of the magnificent Palazzo Vendramin Calergi, on the Grand Canal, also where he died in 1882: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1B0efk-vq8 (YouTube doesn't allow embedding of this video)

RobSS
The Royal Opera House, in London, is reviewing its repertoire to take account of 'cultural sensitivities'. In a statement, it said: “Our repertory contains a raft of work both contemporary and historical. To ensure we present these stories in a way that is suitable and enjoyable for modern audiences, both our artistic companies consult widely to ensure that the Royal Opera House takes account of all cultural sensitivities in its staging, casting and presentation of much-loved historic works.”

RobSS
Theatre cancels Sondheim after staff #Metoo uproar Quote: In an extraordinary new eruption of cancel culture, London’s Old Vic Theatre has called off a 2022 production of Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Into the Woods’ after some staff members objected to #Metoo views attributed to the director Terry Gilliam. The former Monty Python star, now 80, is alleged to have belittled the #Metoo movement, downplayed Harvey Weinstein’s crimes and rallied support for the comedian Dave Chapelle who is currently being attacked by trans activists. After a brief protest, a decision was taken by the theatre’s management to cancel the show. It is another cave-in to a campus mob without reasoned discussion of the issues. Increasingly, the theatre is no longer a place of free speech. RobSS
The ironic thing is that the Stephen Sondheim musical that has been cancelled at the Old Vic, next year, is called Into the Woods. If anyone doesn't understand what's going on in the world today, Into the Woods mirrors what's happening in our world. It's based on folk tales, and what are folk tales but a coded version of the evolution of consciousness. Folk tales are about the journey of growing up and having to take responsibility for our reality on an individual and collective level. They're about witches, curses and magic spells that keep people in a trance and in ignorance. They're about giant forces that cause upheavals and disruptions, causing people in society to run into the woods (the inner mind) to find out what's going. It's very sad this musical has been cancelled. One of the reasons why the world is the way it is is because too many people are "nice", too nice to believe that evil exists, and so evil flourishes undetected, until no one can avoid it. The Witch: You're so nice. You're not good, You're not bad, You're just nice. I'm not good, I'm not nice, I'm just right. I'm the Witch. You're the world. I'm the hitch. I'm what no one believes, I'm the Witch. It's the last midnight, Soon it will be boom-- Squish! [...] It's the last midnight, So goodbye, all. Coming at you fast, midnight-- Soon you'll see the sky fall! From the 2014 film of the musical: Edited November 2, 2021 by RobSS

Most of these European Monarchs would have been in Broadmoor, had they been alive today, the ones who survived their congenital defects that is. Prince Charles is the final product! Ludwig II, the "fairy tale king", who was very handsome as a young man, would be the last person to say he was perfect, and like all humans was flawed, but he did a great deal of good for his countrymen, and was very much dearly loved by a great many people including musicians, actors, singers and artists, and Richard Wagner. Ludwig II was a romantic who built wondrous castles, which have done untold good for the German tourist industry for well over a century. IMO, he was a good person and his madness was of a divine nature - he didn't fit in with the system. His life story is epic... his life ended in sad tragedy, but it also ended in mystery. His minsters wanted to get rid of Ludwig II because the "dream king" spent too much money on his castles and various other romantic projects, and in those days, the only way to get rid of a king was have him declared insane. Historians still debate to this day, whether the king really did suffer from a psychiatric illness. In any event, in 1886, his Bavarian ministers managed to find a professor who would pronounce the king unfit to rule the country. King Ludwig II was arrested at Neuschwanstein Castle (photograph above), one of the castles King Ludwig had commissioned). From Neuschwanstein Castle, Ludwig II was transferred to Berg Castle, by Lake Starnberg. Ludwig's ministers had already converted Berg Castle into a one-man prison, with locked doors, barred windows and guards. The day after his imprisonment at Berg Castle, the king was allowed to go for a walk by the lake. He was later found dead in shallow water in Lake Starnberg. Ludwig's doctor was also found dead nearby. Ludwig's body had no physical injuries and no water was found in his lungs. The official government version of events was that King Ludwig II rushed to the lake to commit suicide. The doctor tried to stop him. In this ensuing struggle, king killed the doctor and then drowned himself. Did Ludwig II commit suicide or was he murdered by his ministers? https://www.thegeographicalcure.com/post/mad-king-ludwig-s-death-suicide-or-murder King Ludwig II as a young man: King Ludwig in his sleigh:

Macnamara
It's 2030..... all classical music has been banned from the airwaves as 'wrongthink' In order to roll back the 'whitewashing' of musical history music played on the radios or television or sold in the shops has been 'decolonised' of anything created by white people unless the message of the music is deemed 'politically correct' Now orchestras of non white immigrants from every country on the planet, conducted by jewish conductors, play orchestral renditions of gangsta rap classics from the 1990's and 2000's Everyone is very happy about this.....its is assumed....as no one voices any dissent. If they do voice dissent they are sent to the camps for 're-education' to overcome their 'bigotry'. Some unfortunately contract covid 33 while in the camps and are never seen again. They have created a 'culturally enriched' desert and called it 'peace' Edited January 6, 2022 by Macnamara
