Correct!

But the very fact they are working in it as we speak suggests that a few years down the line there may well be a solution... but given all the shenanigans going on at the moment I wouldn't put it past the major energy companies or government to pay off the researchers NOT to find a solution.

I guess we'll see...

If hydrogen could be safe and cheap you can bet on it that this will not go ahead. They want everyone using either electric radiators or those useless heat pumps. Because both  generate astronomically priced bills.

The narrative is becoming you must pay very high heating bills to save the planet, and if you are against this you are selfish; you aren't willing to sacrifice your comfort to save the planet from destruction!

No matter that Joe Average and his family haven't got £200 a month to spend on a humongous electricity bill. He's so selfish!

But carry on flying to luxury resorts, drive around in the latest £91,000 Tesla car rich twits, and keep pointing your fingers at the plebs.

UK electric car inquiries soar during fuel supply crisis
Sellers of plug-in vehicles say petrol shortages are driving people to adopt the new technology

As petrol stations in parts of the UK started running out of fuel on Friday, business at Martin Miller’s electric car dealership in Guildford, Surrey, started soaring.

After what ended up being his company EV Experts busiest day ever, interest does not appear to be dying down. This week the diary is booked up with test drives and the business is low on stock.

“People buy electric cars for environmental reasons, for cost-saving reasons and because the technology’s great,” he said. “But Friday was one of those moments where people said, ‘Do you know what, this is a sign that we need to go electric’.”

While scenes of chaos play out at petrol stations across the country amid shortages, for many electric vehicle (EV) dealers the fuel crisis has led to an unexpected surge in inquiries and sales.

In Spain, Wednesday’s El Pais featured the petrol panic as its main front page story.

The headline, “Brexit unpredictability exacerbates UK supply crisis” and it accused the UK’s leadership of being unprepared.

Unprepared?

Then WTF was Theresa May doing shuttling back and forwards to Brussel’s for nigh on three long, tedious fucking years, hammering out a deal?

Unpredictable?

Her successor, Boris did not foresee or anticipate a supply shortage without migrant labour or foreign drivers and leaving haulage trucks stuck at borders.

Are these people thick?

Here's the latest from Bloomberg... looks like this is set to rumble on right the way through winter....

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-15/u-k-energy-crisis-deepens-as-fire-knocks-out-a-key-power-cable?fbclid=IwAR1sNipr47GLToR1FC5XrTRF-ZgeIeI_smw3GRmWWEkWN3lK9aHP7jkV_Hk&utm_source=url_link

However, here is one of the key takeaway points form this article:

Britain is a net importer of power, with France its biggest supplier via connectors that run across the English Channel.

As an island we should be surely be aiming at a sustainable level of self sufficiency but as we know, those in power have been steadily eroding that privilege since the end of the second world war... All this ties in with David's latest Dot-Connector warning us of "The Big Squeeze" this winter pushing everyone to electrical energy while reducing the options on other sources of energy.

anybody buying an electric car hasn't been paying attention to the dire state of the grid or the lack of new power stations for when every thing is electric.

Yes, and the folly of making all power electric. It's bound to have outages and what will folk do when no phones work, there is no light, no cookers to cook food, machines in hospitals providing life support? Crazy!
