Queensland to impose COVID-19 restrictions on unvaccinated people from December 17th

The Premier said pubs, clubs, nightclubs, hotels, taverns, restaurants, cafes, bars and music venues will be free from all restrictions provided all patrons and staff are fully vaccinated.

Concerts, theatres and cinemas also come under these new rules, with restrictions to apply for the private hire of venues, if occurring with unvaccinated people.

Outdoor entertainment activities like sports stadiums and theme parks, as well as all festivals, will also only allow vaccinated staff and patrons to enter.

[...]

Other settings like essential retail and public transport will not be limited for the unvaccinated but there are likely to be density restrictions.

[...]

Ms Palaszczuk said people who have done the right thing deserve to be compensated.

"Today we are taking another small but important step on our road to keeping our freedoms," she said.

"I've always said, as Premier, I am determined to unite Queenslanders and we have been united in our fight against this Delta virus.

"But now we need to all be united in our effort to get vaccinated.

She said the Check In Qld app would be updated to include vaccination status.

"When you arrive at a venue you will have to show your check-in app and by, I think, the 17th of November you'll be able to register your vaccine on your check in app," she said.

"So it's going to be very easy, very seamless for people just to get out their phones and do exactly what they've been doing now to show that they are vaccinated but also to staff at these venues who will also need to be vaccinated as well."

Acting Chief Health Officer Peter Aitken warned the freedoms and reopened borders would bring a wave of new COVID-19 cases.

[...]

Only fully vaccinated people will be able to visit hospitals, aged care facilities, prisons and disability services, except in end-of-life or emergency situations.

[...]

"We do expect venues to please, when these changes come in, to display the vaccination rules.

"You ask for the evidence of vaccination and if there is no evidence, they can obviously ask that person to leave and if they refuse to leave, call the police.

"As I said it is not the venue's role to be the police. We will do that for you.

"We have seen bad behaviour in other states and I just reiterate the message that that will not be tolerated here, that if people do not comply, there will be enforcement action."

[...]

He added there was still time for those who are not vaccinated to get the jab.

"I tell everyone who's not on their vaccination journey, that's 20 per cent of eligible adults, it's not too late.

"There is plenty of time this week to go and start getting vaccinated, get your first vaccination.

"And so from the 17th of December, you'll be able to enjoy the same rewards as all of these other Queenslanders."

QLD brings in the rules for the unjabbed. Fuck them, I'm never getting back to Manchester, cunts.

Usual shite, no pubs, festivals, hospitals, libraries, galleries, clubs etc

I just read on the Gov website, unvaccinated can't leave Oz unless it's for compassionate or business reasons. It's just unforgivable as well as pubs, restaurants etc.  Do you have any friends or are there any groups near you to offer moral support.

Hugo Talks has a Connections Forum and a couple of people have posted comments

I hope this this doesn't make you feel homesick. Posting to relieve the constant bad news.

By end-of-life care do they mean palliative care or life-threatening care?

Surely they can't deny care to someone seriously ill?

My cousin is pregnant and has adamantly refused the jab, I got no idea how she's gonna get away with a hospital birth.

Giving birth is ok under the legislation. Just get in, refuse all jabs, and get out.

For the first time in my 30 years in Oz I am starting to believe the vibrations are changing.

I am getting that feeling from some of the Aussies I have talked to.

I wonder If Dan Andrews advisers have told him his arse should start twitching about now ;)

Rumours are getting stronger everyday, that Qld will be put into a hard lockdown at the end Nov/early December. This will be centred on the gold coast, where word has it the novotel has been fully booked out until the 4th of Feb by the military, this has been verified by Cairns news (an awesome online news network that i recommend people to subscribe to.  Meanwhile further north in Cairns, chinooks have apparently been seen in and out of the airport. I'm not sure if they want martial law, but unsure otherwise why the army would be active on the gold coast for a couple of months. The police and the public seem to do a good job on the governments behalf.

We're in unchartered waters. We have no idea what direction these mongrels are going to push us in.

The unprecedented crowds we've been seeing and the copious amount of shills who are pushing their agenda, leaves me dizzy and confused.

People need to remember, if you're being pushed for revolution by known shills, there's a reason for it.

Are we going to be pushed to a martial law situation?

Meanwhile all the attention is on Melbourne at the moment, I think most Aussies would agree if shit is gonna hit the fan, it will probably be in Queensland.

I suspect martial law is what they want, and it's likely. The next 6 months are vital, not just for this country but for all countries.

We had a bad experience last week .My husband was recently offered a chance to take part in a clinical trial as he has prostate cancer and other treatments haven't worked . 6  weeks ago we went down to Sydney (a 2 hour trip each way  ) to meet the professor in charge of the trial .No mention was made of vaccinations or PCR tests ,we were treated warmly and asked to return in a month .  Last week we went back with the expectation of my husband undergoing routine  blood tests and to be accepted into the trial  .We arrived at the  clinic to a full waiting room and went up to the reception desk to say we were there ,the receptionist  immediately asked if we were vaccinated ,when we said no the professors assistant  suddenly appeared and we were told to go out into the corridor . the assistant then said he hadn't realised we wouldn't be vaccinated ,so i said why wasn't any of this mentioned previously . He asked if we would have PCR tests -i think he meant lateral flow ,he kept referring to it as a Covid swab .Anyway we refused ,he went away 3 times to speak to the professor and we were told my husband could not be seen .The assistant kept going on about the Covid swab -i told him none of the tests could detect Covid and they were using deception  and misleading people i  got very angry and said a few more things . Anyway we left and drove home .My husband sent an email to the professor the next day expressing his opinion and disappointment . he received a short reply stating that he could not accepted into the trial without continuous PCR tests or  being double vaccinated .  My husbands option is to go back to the hospital cancer clinic that referred him for the trail ,but i have a feeling their rules will have changed too . i was interested in how the participants in the trial being vaccinated would affect the results of the 2 treatments being studied .The feeling of being cast aside as a 2nd class citizens  was not a pleasant t feeling .

This is disgusting. I can't believe the issue of vaccinations and swabs would not be mentioned beforehand. There appears to be an assumption amongst the jabbed that everyone else has had it, and a complete inability to work out why people would refuse. I'm gutted for you and your husband, and wish you all the best in your continued battle against his condition.
