can the Uk government just be honest and say

"youre all screwed looking into the next 3 generations"

"weve covered up the crippled economy for a couple of decades but its becoming impossible to continue"

"you can choose to a. work hard and pay off your collective greed and lust for government handouts and fight for selfsufficiency  or b. become slaves on a global plantation with guaranteed scraps thrown from the table of corporate aggrandisement

b shout the crowd , we prefer immediacy and an easy life.

or C. say that it's the rich who got us into this mess so they can pay it back if they want to, we're not paying and default.

In my middle-aged life I've never heard anyone say they're happy with the politics in this country. We prefer to grumble in private and put on a brave face in public. The little hope that we've had at election time is always dashed, and over time it's created a fatalism that this is just the way things are and the ruling elites are always with us, as are the poor (to misquote the Bible).

There are lots of people worse off than us in the world who don't rise up either. Have the untouchables in India started a revolution?

Also I think there's a difference between happiness and pleasure. The economic and political system requires a  constant low level dissatisfaction with the here and now and restless for the next novelty, fashion or fix of stimulation and pleasure. As long as the system can continue providing shallow pleasures such as TV and fast food we are distracted from realising why we are stuck on the hamster wheel of desire, temporary gratification, then more desire.

I'm inclined to say that the cost of living crisis is nowhere near breaking most people yet. In my job i see the amount of crap that people order online and I'll tell you it ain't the bare essentials, unless dvds, wireless speakers, gaming keyboards, dildos and wizard costumes are essential?

Some people are addicted to buying things and go in debt... not sating that's what's happening but you have to take that into a count. Look at ppl that buy cigarettes. They used to be 5 dollars now almost 10 and people still buy them. They want the perfect consumer slave to go into debt buying their useless shit, then go to work to pay the debt and spend more money on useless shit, it's a never-ending cycle unless you wake the hell up.

worth reading the full thread

Biden is bankrupting the corporation whilst trump still runs the country whilst removed from public view. I wish I could say I am enjoying the show but I am not, people are waking up far too slowly. I saw this news yesterday on a channel I hadn't seen before on YT called Redacted (which may or may not be shit) but pretty much outlined that thread, very interesting reading/viewing regardless of channel being good or bad.

Interesting chat here between three right of center chaps about the current state of politics in the UK. One guy is an ex Tory party member and author and Morgoth is on the panel too.

Lots of thoughts about why things are happening, WEF etc.

It's nice to see the different perspectives from people of the same political leanings. I don't think Morgoth is much of a conspiracy kind of guy but he knows what's going on.

You can't really call it all politics anymore.

Its more an organised systemic corruption framework.

Anyway worth a watch if you have the time and are interested in the minutiae of current British politics.

Sorry I'm finding I have some time to write today, and I've got a lot / too much, that I've witnessed lately !

Ben Elton did a routine on 'PC' last week, but what the hell was that excuse for a show that I used to love? Humans spent thousands of years sculpting their creativity, culture and comedy. It cannot be destroyed in 20 years.

Separate overheard on the news ...

The BBC just now; "We're living in scary times and even the PM agrees." "The biggest task will be uniting the country" ... "The biggest cost is childcare" "The joy of having a family has meant giving up a job that she loves."  "Currently there is no funding for under 2 year olds"

Just piss off you sneaky treaterous bastards.

They are promoting fear, and yet anytime people were struggling financially it was ignored for years. Now the media creates even more of a self fulfilling prophecy.

"To Ukraine now" ...

Starmer today; "Wages stagnation." ... The absolute car crash of the economy"

When I type lock down sooner into my speak and spell maybe this is what it says ... ?!

Terrible actor.

Rishi and Truss both sound deliberately like broken, slow, boring robots. Where are the fast talking voices of enthusiasm?

People are not happy with their lot so far as I can ascertain from personal interaction. They are anxious & worried.

Thanks zArk. I'll have a look at that.

I detest front bench politics, and I just can't stand these boring politicians. Deliberately boring. Their robotic voices remind me of those now founc in lifts, or on trains and busses. They want to separate us from enthusiastic / passionate human voices.

I watch a bit of the parliament channel, and find ... that real questions are asked, and debates found ... on the back benches. At least to some extent. Today I listened to some questions on Avian flu, and heard Covid and vaccines mentioned a few times, which was quite interesting.

But that's another story ... 😊

PM Questions today

Q)

He did not help ordinary working people

Tax the non doms ... 70,000 of them

Will he bring in windfall tax on energy?

A)

I'm very proud of my time as chancellor

Maybe he'd like to speak to the

10 million on furlough whose jobs we saved

Those on universal credit ... Extra £20

This will always be a fair and compassionate government

With the low paid interests at heart

Mostly word for word, a little paraphrasing.

I notice this is repeated non stop. Furlough furlough furlough.

And help the poor, but not the businesses?
