evanslr Posted March 3 Share Posted March 3 (edited) There have been measurements in the lab of CO2's aborpstivity/emissivity (it's ability to absorb and emit radiation) and it's very low -- too low to have a large effect on temperature. These measurements were by Hottel (1954) and Lecker (1972) and other scientists up until today. The warming comes out at 0.4C to 0.5C when you apply the Stefan-Boltzmann law -- that's from the entire CO2-greenhouse of 420ppmv.
