The agony and torture of the elderly during lockdown

Golden Retriever

Recommended Posts

This is the subject which makes me the most angry about lockdown because I look after my mother at home, but God forbid

if she was in a care home during 2020 or even now.   I can only comment on the information from the UK, but I think

it affected elderly people worldwide, especially in so called "care homes"

In the UK care homes were actively encouraged to coerce elderly residents to sign "do not resuscitate" legal documents.

Many of these residents were suffering dementia and even those who were not, were unable to see their loved ones to

discuss it.  Amnesty International slammed the UK Government last year for their inhumane actions, but the MSM paid

only lip service.

There are lots of heart wrenching videos online. Please post them here for a record.

This is one from the US afaik.

Also care homes were attributing deaths to Covid when they clearly were not.

Journalist Bel Mooney wrote:

BEL MOONEY: My dad Ted passed three Covid tests (in care home)  and died of a chronic illness yet he's officially one of Britain's 120,000 victims of the virus and is far from alone... so how many more are there?

"That night, the GP who had seen Dad the day before and was called to certify his death kindly telephoned to express his condolences. He told me that, apart from the chestiness, Dad seemed 'well cared for'.Then I asked what he had put as the cause of death.'Covid-19,' he replied.

When I challenged this, he explained that it was because there had been deaths from Covid on the dementia floor . . . so they consider it reasonable to assume . . .'But Doctor,' I protested, 'an assumption isn't a diagnosis.'

employ carers in their homes to look after their loved ones. They could have taken them out of these places

In the UK the cost of having a 24hr live in carer is exactly the same as the cost of residing in a Care Home.

All you need is a small spare room.

Obviously one 2 one care is much better than the level of care afforded by the carer to resident ratio in all Care Homes.

Not many people realise this..

October 2020 Amnesty Care Homes Report (page 24)

MISUSE OF ‘DO NOT ATTEMPT RESUSCITATION’ (DNAR) FORMS

Throughout the pandemic, concerns about the inappropriate use of Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR) forms have been repeatedly raised. A DNAR form (or DNACPR form, which stands for do not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a document issued and signed by a doctor to inform a medical team not to attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It is designed to communicate a patient’s wishes to healthcare professionals involved in their care. DNARs may be included as part of an advanced care plan or be included independently in a patient’s files.

Any decision regarding DNARs must be made on an individual basis by the patient involved and/or their families where they have legal guardianship, ensuring they have the necessary information to make an informed decision. The blanket imposition of DNACPR notices without proper patient involvement is unlawful. The evidence suggests that the use of them in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic has been widespread. Concerns about blanket imposition of DNAR were reported across the country, pointing to flaws with how decisions were taken and policies communicated to those who are supposed to implement themCCGs, GPs, and care homes. Care home managers reported to Amnesty International and to media cases of local GP surgeries or Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) requesting them to insert DNAR forms into the files of residents as a blanket approach

My Aunt, age 88 has a hip joint that is basically falling apart. It has caused her extreme pain and inability to move much. She was promised an op on it winter 2019-20. Then the dramatic pandemic came, shoving her aside. She was confined to the house and in great pain with serious mobility problems since March 2020.

She tried to ring the doc. but got referred to the website. She doesn't have a smartphone or computer and wouldn't know how to use one if she had.

She takes a paracetamol if it gets too bad. Makes me cringe.  Now, she gets a call to go for pre-med. But the thing is they didn't give two hoots about her for 15 months. Then wowzers!! They sent someone round to give her....guess what? The Astra Zenica! Both doses. She actually thinks they are being kind.

Update

In Decemebr 2020 the relatives of this elderly lady were able to take her home permanently afaik.

These measures (not allowing relatives to take their loved ones out of care homes) was utterly wrong and totalitarian. It beggars belief

why the police were involved.

We need to talk about Midazolam…

  • Midazolam induces significant depression of respiration
  • UK regulators insist midazolam should only be administered in a hospital or doctor’s office under the supervision of a doctor or nurse to monitor the breathing of the patient in order to provide life saving treatment to the patient if breathing slows or stops.
  • Midazolam should be used with extreme caution in elderly patients.

Considering all of the above, how would you feel if we told you we have the evidence to show midazolam may have been used to prematurely end the lives of thousands upon thousands of people, and you were told that they died of Covid-19?

Please help to get #WeNeedToTalkAboutMidazolam trending on Twitter and share this article on all social media platforms.

This is the link to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee's oral evidence dated 17th April 2020. It is suggested that this forms part of the evidence that the government were stockpiling midazolam at least at the beginning of the pandemic as part of its "preparations for coronavirus".

DRUG SCANDAL

Care homes accused of using powerful sedatives to make coronavirus victims die more quickly as use rocketed 100%

CARE homes have been accused of using powerful sedatives to make coronavirus victims die more quickly.

Prescriptions for the drug midazolam rocketed during the height of the pandemic, with some claiming it has “turned end-of-life care into euthanasia”.

It is a tough subject to discuss for anyone that is not a psychopath but I think it is an important one because it could bring their house of cards down. The care home scandal with DNR forms going out to even sick patients outside of care homes, justified by the "busy hospitals" argument. Like that is a reasonable justification??

I feel like this thread could have been started over a year ago.

or is it a delayed reaction?

it’s a bit late now. Many have died and many just a shadow of their former selves. You’d expect to see a bit of a difference upon year with the elderly but I’ve personally seen broken people that would not have willingly traded their golden years with their family for the risk of a pandemic.

False pandemic.

Murdering bastards. The elderly are seen as a burden on the state. One thing I admire about Asian culture is the way the family venerates their older members. We just shove them away in waiting rooms then shove drugs into them. DI is right. Hancock needs locking up. I have no doubt the government stockpiled end-of-life drugs in anticipation of this genocide. That Whitty creature is just a culpable.

New advice from the Scottish Government states that residents should wear a disposable (FRSM) face mask in communal spaces, unless they are exempt.

But relatives have said they “cannot believe it”, as the measure would be distressing to residents and communal areas are still part of their “own homes”.

Jack Ryan, CEO of Newark Care, wrote in an email to relatives: “We have just received revised guidance from the Chief Nursing Officer on the use of face coverings within the homes. All residents are now required to wear a face mask whenever they are receiving personal care or whenever they are using communal areas."

“Please be assured that this latest development does not mean that there is any suspected rise in infection levels across the care home sector. The same requirements are being introduced in all care environments as an additional step to limit the spread of the virus across the community."

"We thought it best to let you know in advance of any visits you might have planned so you aren’t alarmed by the sight of residents wearing masks around the home."

"We can’t pretend to be thrilled by this change, but we have no option but to follow the guidance. Hopefully this is a temporary measure.”

Relatives said, "These are people's homes, they're not a temporary place where they go, this is where they live."

“You're basically condemning these people to never see a human face, because the staff always wear masks, and relatives have to wear masks, and now even [residents] have to wear masks, they can’t even see each other. We’re really quite concerned about it.”

Those in power don’t have their elders in such ‘care homes’, this is just the treatment for the poor and average populations.

The first video here above is moving to tears even though it’s just a ‘whim’ from the old woman, but it looks like hugging her loved ones is really all she got left to hope and expect from life. Still happy she’s still sane enough to have and express that care, so what this video shows is true moral torture on such a vulnerable person that it just takes a bit of plexiglass to be done.

I think the deep purpose with elders is to erase collective memory by getting rid of those who know and remember things. Evil cult leaders mistrust long-timers.

Wow, don't you just love this bit - "We can’t pretend to be thrilled by this change, but we have no option but to follow the guidance".

He just said it's "guidance", if it's guidance then it's not law meaning it's optional. Unbelievable!

  • 1 month later...

My mother hasn't been a good one to me but I now see her as a vulnerable person who needs me and I cannot stop myself from caring about her. She lives alone and has carers who have been brilliant throughout this and have never let her down. I've been going throughout and had her outside walking at any opportunity. She has not had any illness and neither have I. She has now had both vaccines due to me being outnumbered by siblings and my mother being as brainwashed as everyone else with the media. I just gave up on it because I can't fix everything. I think her dementia has progressed from then and she's generally less perky. Three neighbours have dropped dead in her small avenue in the past few weeks! mmm

To follow my above post, nobody seems to associate the deaths with the vaccines! At the beginning of all this, another of her neighbour's mother died in a home and when I spoke to him I asked what had happened. I knew she had suffered a stroke and her physical health suffered but she was perfectly fine otherwise. He said he had visited her and she was fine but three hours later got a call to say she had passed away! When I asked how he just acceptingly said she caught Covid. The acceptance of that astounded me. This is how evil all this is and what we are up against. In my family there is me, my three grown up children and a few of their friends who don't buy it all. My partner, other family members, friends and anyone I know in the town are all fully sucked in. It was like the village of the damned here during lockdown, all doing the local walks with dead eyes.
