I'm having trouble understanding what exactly has changed though, because she still has all the woman parts just with short hair. My mrs said that 20/30 years ago she'd just be called a dyke, lol. Try reading this bbc article without feeling sick https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/58061475 The commentator referred to Quinn as transgender (dunno if they were accurate, or meaning they were the first non-binary/transgender player in general), but yeah you see a lot of female footballers with the cropped hair and boyish appearance. Watching the way they moved, it was like a man. Not a butch woman. One of the English lasses went right in high on them within a few mins of their arrival, so maybe they're not happy about it! Do you mean Quinn moved like a man? I'll have to have a look myself. As far as i can gather, she's had no alterations done, merely identifies as non binary. The moment she has any work done to make her less of a woman she should be pulled from the game. So while not performance enhancing, i could understand why some women would see it as a threat because of the precedent it sets. I'd like to think our women would boycott future games if they were up against a man, or had one shoehorned into their own team at the cost of an actual woman. We'll see. Anti Facts Sir
My guess is the commentator, in their desire to not offend anyone, called Quinn "transgender" as part of the catch-all terminology they have to use. Simply to say non-binary would have made more sense if what you say is the case. I assumed they were a former, non-macho male who had changed gender. A lot of today's male footballers aren't exactly rugged, and Quinn's way of moving and gait while playing in central midfield looked like a lot of today's men - it's a certain style of stature, the way the arms move and the whole thing of basically not being born with female body shape/mass/biology. It's a tricky one, because if they hadn't made a specific reference to it, I'd have just thought they were another crop-haired boyish player. I wonder if they wanted all this attention, because it really shouldn't be anyone's business but of course the media coverage made it all our business.

oddsnsods
I was looking into Martina Navratilova & come across the first high profile trans athlete in history, imagine my shock lol. You probably posted about this before GR. EST. Cross-Court Winner Renée Richards (1934– ), from Jewish Jocks: An Unorthodox Hall of Fame. Before Renée Richards became a star of the professional women’s tennis circuit, she was a nice Jewish boy—the puritz, or prince, of her household. Richards was born in 1934 as Richard Raskind, known to everyone as Dick. The child of two doctors in Forest Hills, Queens, Dick spent weekends fetching tennis balls for his father on dirt courts by the Long Island Railroad tracks. In public, Dick was a self-assured athlete, captain of the Yale tennis team and one of a small number of Jews picked for his fraternity. But he had begun surreptitiously dressing up in his sister’s clothes at age 9. In the privacy of his college dorm, he shaved his legs and disguised his genitals, urgently trying to give life to his female side. By this time he’d named her Renée, French for “reborn.” Dick went to medical school and became an ophthalmologist specializing in highly skilled surgery on the muscles of the eye. He joined the Navy as a lieutenant and won all its tennis championships. But enlisting meant that Dick had to shave off the beard a psychoanalyst had encouraged him to grow to stanch fantasies of Renée. Depressed and lonely, near the end of his stint in the service Dick found a psychiatrist who treated transgender people. He started receiving injections of progesterone and estrogen. His body softened. He took pictures of himself as Renée, looking beautifully feminine, graceful, and long-limbed. After living as a woman for months in a small pension in Paris, Dick traveled to Casablanca, Morocco, for sex reassignment surgery, which he could not get in the United States. He brought $4,000 in hundred-dollar bills to the clinic. But he’d heard stories about unhygienic conditions from people who’d had the surgery. As a doctor, this spooked him, and in the end Dick went home without it. He also stopped the hormone therapy. Everyone who knew Renée was shocked that Dick had stuffed her back into the closet. At the apartment of a friend who often tried to introduce him to women, he met a fashion model he thought was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Dick was smitten. Maybe his friend was right, and all he needed was the right girl. He married her six months later, and their son, Nicholas, was born in 1972. The marriage fell apart three years later. Dick went back to his psychiatrist, who told him that at 40 he’d been tormented long enough and it was time to let Renée live. Dick’s sister tried to talk him out of the surgery. His friends worried about the impact on Nicholas. But as Richards said, in Eric Drath’s excellent 2011 documentary Renée, “I didn’t have any choice.” In becoming Renée, Richards left her home in New York, where her son remained. She restarted her ophthalmology practice in California—and began playing in amateur women’s tennis tournaments. She wore size 12 shoes with minidresses (later adding a mezuzah necklace when she saw many players wearing crosses around their necks). Her friends warned Richards that she’d be found out: A great 40-year-old tennis player doesn’t drop from nowhere. And indeed, when she won the La Jolla championship in 1976, a reporter started digging. The story broke nationally: Women’s winner was a man. https://slate.com/culture/2012/10/jewish-jocks-and-renee-richards-the-life-of-the-transsexual-tennis-legend.html 1

Cross-Court Winner Renée Richards (1934– ), from Jewish Jocks: An Unorthodox Hall of Fame. I didnt know about this man. So allowing men to compete in Womens' sports has been going on much longer than most people know. "Richards played professionally from 1977 to 1981 when she retired at age 47. She was ranked as high as 20th overall (in February 1979), and her highest ranking at the end of a year was 22nd (in 1977)" From what I can gather he played mainly in the USA in his forties. Can you imagine if he had transitioned in his twenties and was allowed to play. He probably would have won many Grand Slams. Bit like the Williams and possibly Navrat eh? We are very grateful for this follow-up post on the affirmation and social transition of adolescents. When a teenager says they're transgender, is affirmation and encouragement to socially transition the most supportive approach? "By the time I talk to Seth’s mother, there are no decisions left to make. She wants me to help him feel less depressed and anxious as he waits for the gender clinic. I know that I can’t ask questions about gender, or whether medical transition is really the only choice here. I can’t suggest that it might be useful to dig deeper into the distress about his female body, to experience distress rather than avoid it. I can’t suggest that learning to live in your body might possibly be better than a life of medicalisation. That could be seen as conversion therapy. It’s like working with both hands tied behind my back. It feels like I am years too late. Affirmation and social transition have completely shut off any other options. Agreeing with young people that they were born in the wrong body and organising their life around that belief is not a low risk thing to do. It’s a serious psychological intervention based on denial and avoidance. Believing their happiness is conditional on denying reality puts young people in a fragile state, dependent on the pretence of others for their psychological wellbeing. Affirmation feels like such a relief, but it’s a seductive illusion. Holding options open and sitting with uncertainty has never felt more difficult, or more important. Our young people need more from us. Supporting them doesn’t have to mean agreeing with them. We owe them honesty, even if it’s painful to hear. We need to tell them that there are many reasons to feel distressed with your developing body, and just because an explanation feels right now, it might not do so for ever. We need to show them that they can tolerate distress and that we’ll help them learn. We need to tell them that we can’t avoid biological reality, no matter how hard we try, and one day they too will find this out. We need to do this now, or in the future too many of them will turn to us and ask, “Why didn’t you ever tell me I might be wrong?” https://www.transgendertrend.com/teenager-says-theyre-transgender/
Anti Facts Sir
Nobody ever heard or talked about this when I was a kid/teen. You might have read about some old guy/lady who was once in the war or a sportsperson, but changed identity later in life. But it was very rare. Now it's all in your face, and be sure it ain't for the good of the kids. They're messed up enough as it is. Clearly not enough to just let them figure out if they're attracted to peeps of the same sex. No, we have to groom society in actually altering who we were born as. Chopping off bits and adding stuff like we're made of lego. 1

Sadly too many parents are going along with this because in my view some local Governments are supporting and affirming transgender children much too quickly. Shops have gender neutral clothing for children, Hollywood, the music and fashion industries adores it all and the MSM and central Government hardly ever have a critical word to say.
