HistoryIsComplex
Some people I know who are normally quite sharp (110 to 130 IQ) and well educated (University degrees) increasingly sound 'cognitively challenged' when I talk to them. They come across as tired, unfocused, resigned, more flip-flopping/imprecise in their opinions and less able to think CRITICALLY than before. Anyone else noticed this?
ItsTheTruthThough
Oh definitely. I think some of it is we have become more awake and aware too so it really stands out for their how much lacking in thinking abilities some people are. With all the propaganda telling them what to think I don’t think anyone has even used their brain in over a year… it’s bound to cause a big IQ drop.
chud
Some people spent at least 2000 years trying to justify their alleged 'superiority' to the rest of the mankind first by the will of 'gods' then in the name of God, then through 'blood', then through 'race' and now through 'genetics'... the more people grew education and awareness and the more these 'elites' became authoritarian and abusive out of fear and paranoia, so in a time when the Internet allows anyone to know practically everything about anything, how do you want our elites not to panic and settle the most cruel dictatorship in men's History ? HistoryIsComplex
I personally believe that there is a real disease or virus of some kind going around. I know people who've been to hospital with severe respiratory symptoms. But I am STUNNED BY THE CENSORSHIP HAPPENING SINCE THE START OF THE PANDEMIC. IF THERE IS A WORLD CRISIS, OPEN DISCUSSION IS A MUST TO OVERCOME IT. I don't understand why DOCTORS AND MICROBIOLOGISTS ARE BEING SHUT UP. I also regard it as DEEPLY SUSPICIOUS THAT WOKE/CANCEL/LGBTI AGENDAS ALL EXPLODED INTO THE WORLD AT THE SAME TIME AS THE PANDEMIC.

northern star
I think this covid thing is proving a leveller in many ways, showing that people we thought were intelligent aren't actually so. Maybe the best educated, but therefore the most programmed through the Matrix repeater education system. If its not in academia, or an "expert" on the BBC or the science community, they dont want to hear it. People who use their natural common sense and intuition can see far better what's going on, and are more able to question the official narrative and see it for what it is. They are starting to look like the intelligent ones. Edited May 6, 2021 by northern star

Shining-one
Noticed it ages ago. Lack of mental challenge and reliance on Facebook and so forth. As well as games and junk food.
Macnamara
I think any animal living out in the wild and making its own way in the world will be smarter, tougher and more resourceful than an animal that is fed in a small zoo enclosure in which there is nothing to do but lounge around and be gawped at So do you want to be the wild animal or the caged one? CrowintheSnow
I have no idea what number my IQ is. I once (10 years or more ago) did a test at 6am when I'd only had 3 hrs of sleep and was told I had a "low average IQ". I never bothered to do it again. I didn't even understand the questions and what they wanted from me. So I am probably dumb to start with. But yes, I have noticed a self preservation/survival instinct coming to the fore in the past year, and whatever isn't essential for that, goes out the window. Particularly relating to emotional. and integrity survival, as I instinctively feel those are under threat, and without those two things we are automatically toast. Yet at the same time I have been learning so much so quickly, and researching like never before. Edited May 6, 2021 by CrowintheSnow Damn "D"'s again! KingKitty
I believe the "pandemic" has exposed just how ignorant most of us humans really are, rather than having made us dumberer. Initially, thinking it was my general area, but as the event proceeded forward, it became evident. But then, wasn't that all part of the Big Plan, anyway? Schools and universities are no longer 'seats of learning'. For many years now, schools and especially universities have become brainwashing centres. Look at the Americans. The average American is as thick as two short planks. All they are good for now is demonstrating and causing shit.
Mr M
Stress and depression can have a massive impact on cognitive function. It's easy to see how some people, especially certain types of people who thrive in social situations and value certain things in life, perhaps the more materialistic, would be harder hit by the current situation than others. Living with stress, constant media fear and uncertainty about the future, especially job prospects and finances, can have a very real effect on someone's physical well-being. andy1033
I have not, but considering what has happened, its likely to exist. When you lower peoples freq, they tend to concentrate of lower freq things. So it would be surprising that people are not as sharp as they used to be. Remember the lockdowns are probably preparing people for something. Shining-one
Don't think IQ can measure intelligence but, yes, I would say global internet reduced intelligence worldwide. People reference stuff now but think less. Education and science likewise has declined. Same as psysical decline due to reliance on cars and pushbuttons. No physical or mental stimulation reaps a bitter harvest.
CrowintheSnow
There is nothing like constant fear (of health, livelihood. family welfare) and severe social restrictions, to have an effect on emotional and mental wellbeing. Humans need hope, need hugs, to visit friends, to freely visit "vulnerable" older family members, care for them, need to wake up in the morning without a dark cloud hanging over them (however subliminal that cloud may be.) Without that sense of well-being, it's hard to focus and be most creative and productive, and use more brain functions. There is always some form of ominious distraction humming away in the background which cripples the natural mind, and even spreads into dreams. Even though daily walks were never restricted during Lockdown, many people didn't take them, and stayed cooped up inside instead for months. I know a lady in her 80's who has not stepped outside her front door since March 2020 "because she was ordered not to". She believed it was forbidden for over 70's and toed the line 100%. I told her she could go out, Over 70's here do. At least to go out in her garden....but nope. Sadly, she thought she'd be arrested if she went out....and now not going out has become the norm. So she has rapidly become housebound, and I don't think she will ever come back from that now. She has also started getting slightly confused, and she had the sharpest mind before this I can't imagine what her vitamin D levels must be. That's another thing that doesn't help anyone. Lack of fresh air, sunshine, exercise, are bound to affect brain function. I don't listen to any of that crap, never did, and do my own thing come rain or shine. I walk where I like when I like. 1
