I remember hearing about it during the first 2g roll out. The gulf wars main objective was to tinker with scaling. Any RF above 1g starts to vaporize stuff so they had alot of testing to use it and not fry a body. Remember those iraqi soldiers that surrendered on mass to a "voice of God, weapon"?
