Shining-one Posted April 30, 2021 Share Posted April 30, 2021 It was a sunny day at 52 Festive Road and Mr Benn was busy taking care of the garden. Children outside were busy playing and the odd shopper was passing by. "I wonder if it will rain today?", thought Mr Benn to himself. "Perhaps there will be time to visit the costume shop before it does?", he mused. Mr Benn, with no further hesitation, took his umbrella and set out on his way. He opened the gate of number 52 Festive Road and set out on his way to his favourite costume shop. The shop where he so often had adventures. The rain held out and the sun peeked through a grey cloud. Mr Benn arrived at the shop and opened the door. Lots of costumes lined the shop racks and this time Mr Benn noticed something strange. Next to the pirate costume was an odd looking surgical mask, but black all over. "I wonder what that is?", thought Mr Benn to himself. "Maybe I should try it on?" DING! As if by magic the shopkeeper appeared. "What would you like to try on today?, he asked, looking at Mr Benn helpfully. "Well, this looks interesting!", replied Mr Benn. "Should I try it on?" The shopkeeper gestured to the changing room. The room where adventures always happen. Once in the fitting room, Mr Benn put on the strange mask. "How stuffy and uncomfortable it feels!", he exclaimed. Then, with no further thought Mr Benn went through the special door. He was ready for a new adventure. As soon as he walked through the door, Mr Benn was greeted by the most astonishing scene. Lots of people were walking in the street and each and every one of them all had similar masks to himself. Even children were diaguised in similar masks but nobody seemed to be having a good time. "They all look so glum and serious!", exclaimed Mr Benn. "Whatever can be the matter", he wondered out loud. Nearby some children were playing with a strange box that lit up when they tapped on its buttons. Mr Benn decided to approach and inquire why all the people in the street were so gloomy and in disguise. "They are afraid they might catch a virus!", the children responded. "Everybody has to wear a mask in case they get a bad cold", they added. Mr Benn was quite taken aback. He had never been on an adventure quite as unusual as this. "Why don't the townspeople just go and buy some Beechams Powders from the chemist?", inquired Mr Benn. However, as he glanced at the chemist shop across the street he noticed something quite odd. A large sign was pinned on the shop door which read, "KEEP OUT! Go home if you feel unwell!" And inside a chair had been propped against the door to discourage shoppers from entering. He was a bit of a square head but an astute guy nevertheless, only I don't remember too much of his voice, maybe because he was quite boring to me at the time ...But its OK, it was a fairly unique series and aside from himself always in a well smart suit (if a little stiff & over choreographed) he was perhaps so only until each new adventure where by going into the (costume store) he would get under the skin of various characters anyway and open up the kiddies eyes to how others live, so it didn't matter so much about his own boring personality, (half kidding, hahah) Looking forward to Mr Benn continuing to beat off the New World Order with his hi tech (sorry low tech) rain-brella! In the 1970s Mr Benn was a clown, astronaut, wizard.... but he's never been an anti vaccine protester. You know, I recall coming home from school and I seem to recall Mr Benn was shown pretty early in the day. These days I'm very much living in my past, listening to groups like Gino Soccio and last night watching The Tomorrow People. I believe the last real decade of humans was 1990's, and time proved me right. There is alot of tv, and movies, you have seen and never seen, made before turn of the century, and i just watch that when watching tv, or movies. Lots of people have collected the kids shows, they watched as kids op, so your not alone. I remember seeing mr benn as a kid too, as i am sure many here do too. Speaking of Columbo there is something very odd about why people are so panicked over this virus business. Makes me wonder about sublimal messages that featured in a Columbo murder case. Very fast data insertions are placed in media footage so it's only read by the subconscious. Anyone could use this to panic masses of victims. For example, one government or agency. I removed mass media years ago after lies over Iraq and WMD. I had enough of blatant propaganda. None of this Covid nonsense bothered me but most people are as terrified as they are incapable of questioning. I find that very strange. Hard to believe they are prepared to give up their own lives for a Holy Grail of promised freedom they will never get. Strikes me as psychological Stockholm Syndrome. The fact that i am seeing people walk down the street in the open air masked up with no-one walking anywhere near them, even though the propaganda machine is telling them loads of had jabs, infection and deaths are down etc and their isn't any mandate telling them to wear them outdoors... Are these people that shit scared they will wear the fast nappy in perpetuity? How fucked up is that? They are too fucking lazy to get out of bed early here, so the just keep regurgitating yesterday's 'news' until after 10:00 every day. I then switch to a VERY quick look at BBC Breakfast for a bit of a laugh, and then we watch RT News. We used to download the better TV series, there were a few good ones Have You Been Served, Red Dwarf, 'Allo 'Allo, The Brittas Empire, Jet Li and Bruce Lee movies. There was a lot of good stuff out there, ruined by advertisements, so the downloaded ones are without ads and if they DO have an ad I re-encode them and remove it. The utter shit today is full of gays, lesbians, trannys, mixed marriages, half caste kids and woke shit, so we stopped downloading any of that crap more than a year ago. My movie / TV Series database has more than 3,700 items we can watch. I would say that around half of it, we've never seen yet, but even after we have finished the entire pack, there's still a shithouse full of stuff (like Red Dwarf, Jet Li and suchlike) that I can watch again and not a single fucking advertisement anywhere and nothing "woke". I think the movie industry is on a downward spiral. I wonder how long they can keep afloat if everyone does the right thing and boycotts the bastards. I've been racking my brains on ways to show these stupid advertising morons that WE DONT BUYTHEIR SHIT! One way is to try to avoid anything advertised on TV. We try really hard. And the old Shatner/Nimoy films to me are the best (the lastest films try to be too much like Star Wars). In fact it's always been a show about diversity. The Original Series showed controversially at the time one of the first interracial kisses (between Uhura and Kirk)... But, the latest incarnation of it (and typical of Hollywood these days) "Discovery" has gone too far to the other extreme.... The only lead characters are female, the male characters are either gay or have something deeply flawed about their personalities. There is no Kirk type male character. (We can't have a heterosexual alpha male that gets into fist fights and always cops off with a pretty alien now can we...?) There is also no humour in it whatsoever. Everything has become about fear and despair, no positive future where people find the middle ground, where differences are accepted and everyone is open minded about new ideas. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before Better, stronger, faster. Would Oscar Goldman send Steve out on a mission to halt the vaccine? Probably. I noticed Lee Majors grew a moustache later in the series but didn't think it suited him.
