Seconal
A man has died after being struck by his own car as he tried to stop it rolling down a hill, police have said. The 69-year-old's Kia Sportage began rolling down Crompton Vale in Bolton as he returned to it from a walk at about 14:40 BST on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police said while attempting to stop it, he was run over and despite the efforts of paramedics, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt Philip Shaw said it appeared to be "a tragic accident". "It remains important that we conduct an investigation into the circumstances of this incident to make sure the family have answers to why this happened," he said. He urged anyone "who witnessed the incident, saw the car prior to the man's return to it, or has any information that may assist our inquiries to get in touch". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-56878159
chud
It's frustrating for anyone here not to find any comment to do on what's the most ridiculous death of the year.
Seconal
Agreed, I guess people might not know what to really say. It's tragic but also incredible. If we had CCTV footage of the incident it would make more sense. He must have either tried to stop his Car from rolling by trying to get into it or it rolled up from behind without him noticing. chud
Yes I didn't mean it was funny, ridicule may be tragic too. I bet it's worse than that and the man just tried to stop his runaway car in a descent with his body... one more COVID death to health authorities... Anti Facts Sir
There will be a whole lot more of this, and similar "accidents" when driverless cars with hackable remote tech become the norm.
Seconal
I think Biden promised so many industries a monopoly in the future technocratic era of high tech Super Cites in return for their votes and support. Infrastructure means a great many different things to communist-socialists and his huge multi trillion dollar bills shall pay off and pay for all of it. A Great Reset, resetting the balance of power and redistributing the wealth. Silicon valley, with 5g and their superfast railways will run the technological infrastructure of these Cities. Schools and educators. Green deal, anti-Oil and environmental and energy interests. Our Saviour, Communism.
Beaujangles
Well, we know people are wearing masks and their oxygen intake is compromized. I do think people arent thinking straight and maybe this was the issue. However, although most of us may have just let the machine roll down the hill and claim the insurance - I can understand why someone would try to prevent someone being killed by a runaway car. Maybe there is more to this story. All the same, I think it is sad that someone has lost their life and yes I agree with so many getting covid tests on the regular, I`m guessing it will become a covid death. Funnily enough I've very recently had a load of problems with home tech failing en masse (mainly appliances, heating and games consoles). To be fair, we have been in the house 10 years and most of the items were 5-10 years old and couple are probably 16 years old. However, they are all failing at once. I suspect this is due to increased use during lockdown, I probably made 5 years worth of coffee in 12 months not being in the office or travelling.
