Industrial farming methods leading to destruction of soil

A good documentary I saw recently on the topic of soil health was "Kiss The Ground". In that they explain that industrial farming methods and the constant tilling of the soil is reducing soil quality, which they say will eventually lead to unusable soil.

They don't even mention peak phosphorus, without going too doomer, is the idea that phosphorus a key component in plant growth is a finite resource.

That is not the full story as of course we have chemical companies all too willing to sell magic chemicals and IP seeds which you probably already know about it.

The solution they come in to the documentary is to restore farming to its roots where they kept crops growing for years and allowed the vegetation to grow around it, so called natural fields. Of course this is not practical for modern farming, thus the dilemma.
