itsnotallrightjack
Quote 'Super freeing': men's skirts emerge as pandemic fashion trend. For men who want to ditch their tie-dye tops and sweatpants post-pandemic but keep the comfort, a surprising new trend has emerged: the skirt. Skirts have been included in the autumn/winter collections of Stefan Cooke, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Burberry and Jaden Smith’s MSFTSrep label, while longer skirts have been worn by the rappers Post Malone and Bad Bunny and the singer Yungblud. But it was Harry Styles on the pages of US Vogue who cemented the trend (in a Wales Bonner knitted skirt and a Comme des Garçons kilt), following other notable male skirt/dress moments (David Bowie on the cover of The Man Who Sold the World, Mick Jagger at Hyde Park, Kanye West in a Givenchy leather skirt). The trend is indicative of how the pandemic has unshackled men from their dress codes. And what’s more freeing to your legs than a skirt? “I want to celebrate the freedom of expression,” said Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci in February when he unveiled his menswear-focused collection, which featured pleated skirts and shirt dresses. “I love the idea of men in skirts, I find it very liberating,” echoes Ludovic de Saint Sernin. Mark Bryan, an influencer who posts arresting selfies to his 410,000 Instagram followers showing him posing in various skirts in different urban surroundings, said: “It offers me more than the traditional men’s trouser.” He said he receives very few negative comments (“about 5%”) about his attire when he’s out and about. The majority are positive. “I get a few women that will approach me and say I look nice,” he said. “They usually ask me where I get my shoes from. If a man approaches me, he will ask something like: ‘How can you walk in heels’?” For De Saint Sernin, the element of subversion appeals. “It’s just really fun, I guess, being able to wear something that usually belongs to womenswear, and at the same time keeping the look believable on a man.” https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2021/mar/24/super-freeing-mens-skirts-emerge-as-pandemic-fashion-trend Call me old fashioned but I think this is weird. There's a reason why men and women have generally different clothes: different body shapes and cuts to fit said shapes and yes for good style-- which has long gone out the window. Real men. Simps. The youngsters of the next generation are all going to be kooks and nutty as a fruitcake the way things are headed. Imagine the conversations when they want to "date." SIMP ONE: Hi, I'm Jordon ( thinks: what non binary spectrum are they in?) SIMP TWO: Hey I'm Mackenzie ( thinks: is that male or female? ). Nice dress. Months later they are still non the wiser. Kilts are different as they are traditional costume originating from cloaks and worn for formal events. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilt

Firebird
Fashion trends come and go. In the 18th century many men of standing wore heels and wigs, lol. I don't like the shirt and tie at all. I hate it. I'm the kind of guy who would love to wear sporty outfits all day or maybe a bearskin or something. Either comfy or wild but never all the neat professional bullshit men are supposed to wear. I'm not mr. suave nor do I want to be. rideforever
"Can you not see that from the beginning the Lord made them man and woman, and so you shall leave your mother and father, and the husband shall find a wife and the twain become one flesh". In this statement Jesus points out the essential nature of the universe and our lives and the universal distinction of man and woman. What is happening in the West fantasies of degenerate insincere nobodies in the Guardian ... is corruption. They are full of hate and they are trying deliberately to damage the young. They live in a world watching Breaking Bade and Dexter, of programming themselves for evil, hatred mistrust ... and so they respond to that by hatred and if they can get revenge on your children, all the better. Such an evil society is completely unimaginable before 2000. Something has gone very seriously wrong. If you are young and forcefed such evil you have little hope of ever finding out who you are as the basic sanity of your life is destroyed. Such people become the damned, they will grow and try to apply the evil they have been taught and fail and then they will be angry but have no understanding of what is wrong. It's their clothes that are wrong. It is them inwardly they are manufactured and grown in an evil laboratory created by evil and miserable degenerates. Such degenerates are always forced to the edge of society, in a healthy society. This is how it was when I was young in Britain. This country is declining. When these generations of young people grow up, with men-women prime ministers and sodomy parties ... who will know the difference between up and down, day and night. On satan is laughing, everyone else will suffer. And aren't well all experts on mental health diseases and cancers ? More is coming. Much more. The only solution is to push degeneration right out the society. Or the entire field of wheat will perish.
gregory-peccary
What a bunch of boring old farts you are! Men have worn dresses on an off over many years. When I was young Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention wore dresses, Zappa with his hair tied up in bunches. The Magic Band wearing dresses and nail polish, and don't mention Bowie. As for the memories rideforever has of being young in Britain: where the hell were you living and when? Some bizarre god-bothering dreamland by the sound of it. I'll leave you with a quote from the film 'Zorba The Greek'. Anthony Quinn is told he is wearing a womans dress. He stands tall and says 'when I wear a dress it becomes a mans dress!'. And nobody was about to argue with him!

The difference is that AQ was a man, and he was making a joke. The new generation have been raised in a way that they are not men inwardly and they are not joking. This is how it goes. Brave New World will roll in, or maybe something resembling the Azetcs ... and they will say "oh people always did this", don't be such an old fart. Don't think so? Just wait. It's not far away, too many young people were raised with a sick view of the world now, it's unstoppable. Just like Coronavirus. The scene is set, enough people are now damaged, for all manner of evil to flow into this society.
Firebird
Why are gyms so popular then, compared to 20 years ago? Every boy and man is expected to have visible muscles. Or compare t-shirts of two decades ago with now. The sleeves are way shorter and it's to accentuate the biceps. Beards are also more common. I don't see how a niche of men wearing a skirt changes the trend towards more hyper-masculine looks.

From one heterosexual womans perspective that looks revolting. I can`t imagine wanting to physically interact with a man dressed like that. Even a kilt is a bit offputting imo.... but at least its down to the knees and not high enough to see a polony should a breeze occur... There is something far more erotic in seeing a real man uncover himself from his masculine clothes - thats my opinion... I had a very strange experience once... a man I knew ( not on an intimate level) came to visit as he said he had something important to tell me. After some conversation he went to the washroom and came out minus his outer clothing to reveal himself in panties, stockings and suspenders and a bra. This same now `man`graces You Tube as a female - with a now female name and is involved in promoting part of may be called the ``truther`` movement. The big reveal did not cause any stirring in my loins... ( I should add that this person is actually an ok human being...not putting them down in any way...) As a white heterosexual WHITE male, I would not be laughing if I saw them walk into my office, I'd be looking for another job as quickly as possible, as those types will be looking to play the victim and play power games.
