Mitochondrial Eve
Something today reminded me of this new earth video. Whilst it is concerned with the possible stone softening techniques used to create these amazing statues, some of the artwork is simply sublime. The artifacts could be considered "conscious artwork" by provoking a curiosity into how such exquisitely intricate masterwork can be achieved. Sylvie Ivanova puts forward a compelling theory that stone softening is a more probable technique than chiselling as proponents of mainstream art history assert.
