Enter also mass modern media and you can really advance race and gender based wokeness. Of course it already existed before, but the 90s is when the left and right came closer together. Today, you see old school leftists blame neoliberalism and old school right wingers blame the cultural changes. So the 1990s is probably the starting point of the modern ''urban social-liberal''.
