UK Census - 21 March 2021

Recommended Posts

I also am not comfortable filling in the census and the amount of information they are requesting.  I not happy either with the contracts awarded to the dozen or so companies to deploy the census and data gather....Leidos is one of the main ones and given their infrastructure and links, I'd rather not hand out info on a plate to these data thieves and I am also a consienscous objector to those companies that support the military arsenal, weaponry .and cyber agendas.....the other companies are i think...sensible code co, kainos software, iChild F&E, Networthnet ltd, etc etc with Serco manning the call centres ....so i got two very good reasons for declining all information requested.....serco and Leidos just for starters without delving into any links and who to that the others might have  🙄🙄....i read somewhere that on census it says required by 'Law' to be filled in.....so not an act or statute so not enforcable by statutary instruments....and the right to refuse under right to privacy laws holds as the data protection act 1998 takes precedent over census act 1920.  The householder can fill in if they wish,(or not) but information re guests or other household members, unless they consent, would be a data protection act breach also.

I will be staying at a work address on 21st march but have infirmed them they can fill in their own details, but I do not give my consent for my details to be included on their form and i consider it to be an infringement of my rights to privacy, seeing as the census uses the word 'law' which is common law, thereby it is my choice  should i be included or not and as the legal framework has no force of law (law being the word used on census form) then it can only act on terms and conditions agreed by me.  And i will be saying no to it.  Luckily I live in a campervan so am considered an NFA anyway😁😁

Didn’t fill out the 2011 one had no intention of doing so. Had a young man with his official looking badge turning up on my yard advising me that his office hadn’t received a response from my address.

I just had a census guy knock on my door. I've not seen them before and I thought it maybe a delivery driver. He introduced himself and said that they've not received a census from me I said "okay" an

CommonSense101 has only posted in this thread and only about the census.   Looks like a paid government shill. Joined the day after the deadline.

Adecco UK Ltd as part of the huge Zurich based Adecco Group are under contract with the ONS for data gathering purposes and will have 30,000 staff signed up for the purpose.

Where their servers are based I have no idea but any land based routing to Zurich would involve crossing EU territitory at some point.

Our data in Poland from last census were sent to store in Israel - no shit... 🙃

Zurich, switzerland eh? ...passing through Berne on the way i expect via the postmasters of the International postal union no doubt...now theres a rather misguided delusional organisation with pompous assertions as to any rights to anyones data under any of their fabricated patse syntax grammar encoded om any document🙄....but then when their sticky fingers are covered in so much shite, then they wouldnt be able to tell a pulse from a mile off....they need to wash their hands with some good soap and water and keep standing at the sink till they clean....could take centuries of course..😂😂😁...meanwhile i'll get on with the good book, and use language for the purpose meant...to be truthful 😁

Yes I did mine too. I can't afford to lose £1000. It's way too intrusive. The old censuses I am sure weren't like that. I checked a really old one once for record of my Nana and where she lived as a girl. Just her familys' names, their address, how many in the household, and what relation to each other, plus occupations I think.

Now they want to know your sexuality., your religion, your colour. I always imagined one's sexuality was one's own business. What fucking right have they to make a database of who we fuck and who we worship? Or the colour of our skin?....then whether we have central heating or not....a car.....
Way too intrusive.

Apt (?) or ominous don't you think, that they are collecting all this stuff right now?

And that is why people were scared into buying a TV license they dont need.

Nobody came a knockin'.....

I lived without a TV licence for ages. You're right, nobody came a knockin'.

Now I have no TV and still nobody comes a knockin'. 😁 Nobody can ever find this place that's why. Though I have often invited them to visit, they are scared of the dark "No street lights!!" they whine.

Its indidual choice....and no i havent filled anything in, refuse to give my information to a load of criminals...the 50 questions asked on census no doubt will be pawed over by the 'nudge' units to ascertain where to take it next...doubt it has anything to do with holding your hand or supporting you...just a snap shot at where they are at with their propaganda.

So, whether anyones pulling my leg or not, i feel most content to have refused,... at one with my conscience, my views, and happy to walk the walk without cherry picking from my beliefs,  have not capitulated to such daft intrusion.  I am not bothered with the threat of fines, wont be paying as dont have a 1000 pounds, and had I that money, best 1000 i ever spent, and if i had any cash left over, I would go celebrate with a take away, bottle beer and put my feet up and allow myself a big smile.... its all good 😌👍😁

Actually I had a dig into this. Came across the Stats Act 2007. If they use it for anything other than stats, someone can go to prison. Couple of years, never dropping the soap in the shower... So if anything you put down comes up somewhere else, you've got grounds to have a real go at them! Just a thought.

Am I correct in thinking that this holds true in all circumstances

IF one is not trying to commit fraud.

In the UK it is legal to call yourself anything you want as long as it is not for financial gain. You do not need a deed poll as others have indicated. You just adopt the new name and inform everyone. This right is enshrined in Case Law from the 18th century, so dont be bullied into anything else!

SO on the census form I could call myself Boris Johnson or whatever...  obviously if I use a less obvious name which is an alternative to my own it is less likely to attract unwanted attention.

Obviously I could decide to go back to using my old name quite quickly so that there would be no point it me informing anyone.

I'm 47. I've completed one census in my life about 20yrs ago and don't intend to complete a second.

I don't answer my door to someone I'm not expecting which I find avoids a hell of a lot of grief, so I'm effectively immune from the twats who come knocking.

If they try and fine me I'll refuse to pay it.

If given up caring about the consequences.

I refuse to capitulate to laws that compel me to DO something.

Not strictly true.

When you change your legal name you are compelled to stop using it for all transactions and adopt your new name in full. Otherwise it's considered fraudulent.

However, under the Statutory Declarations Act 1835 you are entitled to change your name anytime you like, and you aren't compelled to use your new name verbally. You just have to use your new legal name for any transactions.

However, companies are only obliged to change your documentation if you swear the oath in the correct way and agree to drop the use of your previous name for all transactions.

A deed poll is nothing but a correct oath (based on the SD act 1835) that everyone will accept. It's not recorded on a database anywhere that you've changed your name and a deed poll isn't proof of person, and your new name will become a legal alias to your birth name so far as credit records or the police are concerned.

I've been through this twice myself and if the oath isn't in accordance with the SD Act banks et al won't amend your paperwork. 💚

They knocked today and left a leaflet saying " we haven't had your Census. Had a couple of tick boxes on it saying will you complete it today or tomorrow?"

I've lost 20k this year, and they've destroyed the status quo. Knock my door threatening a £1,000 fine...

...well they shouldn't be so nosy with their 50 questions then.  I don't give a flying f..k as to their 'rules'.  Those rules were null and void the moment they started playing the covid scam, lockdowns and all that gene therapy shite they pushing.  The digital system is so ludicrously easy to hack given the most basic of ability that its a joke....I used to know a guy that could change what was written on a computer whilst sat yards away eating a cheese and cucumber sandwich with no access to keyboard, software or anything else....so....given he could do that, and this myopic government focus on harnessing and squeezing out every given bit of data they can from every individual, i shall be hoping that there are plenty more 'cheese salad  granary eating men with crusts on that can alter any said data to read 'f.ck off you limp donut living parasite' as answer to all information they may hold on me.  Call that a ship 😁😁🙄

I'd be interested in what the alternative is. Assuming you think it is generally a good idea for the goverment to know about where folks are, how they are doing etc. Obviously if you think they don't need to know that, then the alternative is simple - nowt!

Same, although mine was masked - I stuck my beak up against the door to see who it was cause it looked like the old plod, turned out it was the census bloke so I just walked away. He seen I was in but oh well eh. The leaflet will go on the fire along with the other 2 letters.

The letter wasn't sent registered post.

I haven't signed for it.

I haven't filled in any census, as no contract exits to fill in any form under threat of financial duress.

Filled it in (partially) online against my better judgement and wishes. Simply to save my folks, already stressed out over being hassled for the jab, and hassled over face coverings, any extra grief from some gimped-up hi-viz tosser turning up at the door demanding it's completed under the threats of a fine.

This isn't a census. They are asking questions that belong on a benefits claim form. Most of it is none of their fucking business.

Who lives here, what job if any do they have, and what age group(s).

That's it.

Everything else is beyond their remit. I refused to answer a lot of it, simply because I don't have that sort of detailed historic info, and my parents certainly can't remember.

If they dare come back to me, saying "you haven't completed this", I will let them know.
