I coulda sworn the last census was supposed to be the last one. Is this one being processed by Lockheed Martin again or they just gonna give it straight to the Cocaine Import Agency?

Pretty sure I ignored that one or just let my foreign housemates fill it in and leave me out haha.

You have a choice at that point ....

don't answer the door ....

answer, stare at them and then close the door ....

answer, tell them you don't live there and close the door ....

answer, tell them what you really think, argue until they wander off or just close the door ....

etc srpgibmd.gif.68220f743ed92f85b72a12ff28c37384.gif

Never been fined .... just threats!

I don't answer the door to strangers as I am far too terrified of them giving me the covid.😝

Wait...so..you don't actually need to return these?

I hate those blasted letters. I receive them multiple times a year asking for the same crap. Boils my blood when I get one through the door. The stress associated with getting it done on time to not get fined..ugh.

Thanks everyone, saved me from buying a new yellow pen.

It appears that the form is online. The thing is, my computer is playing up....probably caught the Covid for all I know.

Anyway, as I say good morning each and everyday to my PC I asked about it and the computer says....NO.

So there you have it.

Strange. My computer has an in-built bullshit filter too. Good old Spectrum 😁 Ever since I started putting psilocybin mushrooms in its floppy drive every morning, it refuses to compute crap and the screensavers are A-mazing!

Do you have any spare mushrooms? Asking for my computer of course...😁

Not grow your own? There is a company that sells all kinds of shrooms. I was thinking of having a box but somehow ended up on a website for psilocybin shroom mail order website. lol

Used to pick them back in my day lol. Haven't done it for years as my last trip wasn't good at all, very horrible which was a shame as I used to have excellent, mind opening experiences.

Put me off them unfortunately, but I guess I wasn't in a good place at the time... Big mistake.

Haha that's amazing!! Everyone needs a bit of psilocybin in their life at some point :D

Virgin Broadband are sending out email telling you to do your census to get "carer" points or something.

They are one slimey shitty soulless company of sheep victms.

The only reason I am with them is because there is no other choice where I am.

I have that same problem where I live too, if I want fast broadband then Virgin has the monopoly as there is no BT Fibre here on my estate.

But getting back on topic, I had the Census letter in the post at the weekend, and I went online and completed it in less than ten minutes.

I totally get why some people might be opposed to this, but it does (supposedly) serve a purpose, and to be honest I wasn't giving away any more information than is probably already known about who I am and where I live. 🕵️‍♂️

Maybe its different for me because I live by myself and I am pretty confident there will be no 'visitors or guests' staying here on Sunday 21st March. 😄

Some of the 'personal' questions are of course optional.

Yeah, filled mine in too. There's nothing asked there that the local government wouldn't know about you ( if you are on UC or getting other in work benefits etc ). The Census has been taken for over 100 years every 10 years so it's nothing new. I was doing some volunteering for my city's archives for an historical project 3 years ago and was accessing census records from the Victorian era. The information on households stored on the records was pretty much the same as what we are giving today.

Incidentally I looked at the census records for my house, which was built in the late 1890s, and found that it seemed to be a private school for young ladies! It's now 3 flats. Funny to think in another 100 years, if the house is still standing, someone will be able to look on the census and see us tenants and also all the others before them if they want to. It's a bit like that history series by David Olusoga!

Adecco UK Ltd as part of the huge Zurich based Adecco Group are under contract with the ONS for data gathering purposes and will have 30,000 staff signed up for the purpose.

Where their servers are based I have no idea but any land based routing to Zurich would involve crossing EU territitory at some point.

I haven't made up my mind yet what I will do about the census this year.

But, for those not comfortable with not filling it in, Save Our Rights have come up with a suggestion about completing the census and creating a new form of religious or philosophical belief called "Freedom". If over 250k people did this, then "Freedom" would become a recognised belief system which could be protected against discrimination.

I think this is definitely worth considering particularly if completing the census involves giving over no more info than is already known about you.

https://saveourrights.uk/census/

Quote

Read below to find out more about the Census and how we can use it to declare our Freedom.

>> What is it?

The Census is a Government form that they ask us to fill in every 10 years to collect data on who lives where.

>> Under what legislation?

The Census Act 1920 gives the Queen the authority to require a census. The stipulations are that we need five years notice but it is an offence to not fill it in.

>> What happens if I don’t fill it in?

The Census website says that if you don’t fill it in by the 21st March they are employing people who will come to each household with a device that will enable them to fill it in for you at the door. If you refuse at that point you may get a criminal record and be liable to receive a £1000 fine.

>> What happens if I put fake information in?

Again, it is classed as a criminal offence which can get you a criminal record and up to a £1000 fine.

>> But it’s only addressed to the householder so how can they fine me?

They will be able to access data to name people on the fines.

It is easier to address the Census letter to a householder instead of every adult they believe to be living there – and to explain that while they’ve named 1, 2, 3+ people on the envelope that it only needs to be filled in by one of them.

>> I feel like it’s an invasion of my privacy?

We would tend to agree and that it isn’t inline with our right to privacy and family life.

>> HOWEVER

If you pay council tax, are registered with a doctor, are on PAYE or own a business the Government already knows all the information about you already which is worth bearing in mind.

>> So how can it be used for Freedom?

One of the questions is where it asks what your religious or philosophical belief is.

We are suggesting that you put FREEDOM in that box (and that box only).

>> Why?

If over 250k people put the same thing in that box on the census then it becomes a recognised belief system and to ask us to do something that goes against it could be a crime under the Equalities Act 2010.

>> How will this help?

It could help us in future with immunity passports, mandations and so on. It is of course no guarantee and may need to be fought in court at least once to get the full benefit of the protection it could offer.

>> So do SORUK support the Census?

No, we feel it is an invasion of privacy, however we wanted to ensure people had the full facts and if people were filling it out to make the most of it.

We cannot advise people on whether to fill it out or not, though. That is your personal choice…or not, as the Government sees it.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>Make a stand for FREEDOM<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

What a pile of drivel.

In no way did what you say justify the need for it

In your own words

''There's nothing asked there that the local government wouldn't know about you ( if you are on UC or getting other in work benefits etc )''

So whats the fuckin' point?

'Oh people in the future can see I lived there!'

Didn't this happen in 2001 (or maybe 2011) where people were entering their religion as 'Jedi' and it became (somewhat) recognised?

Jedi wasn't an option on the online form this year though ⚔️

How are you going to create a new 'box' to tick? It's not a paper form so you can't write it. 🤨

Otherwise, I'd create lots of new boxes.

I haven't completed mine so I don't know about the functionality of the online form.

I have just opened my invitation letter and it says that you can request a paper form at www.census.gov.uk. Perhaps that would give more free rein for what you enter into the boxes? I have just requested one just to see what it looks like - it asked for my name so I just entered "Householder" and that was accepted.
